More specific... Looking for some guidance on how to match tires to new wheels.. I'm looking at a staggerd setup, 20" X 8.5 front, and 20"X 9.5" rear. 245/40r20 should work up front, but will 265/35/20 work for the rear, or is that too wide? ....2011 M56.

...And is it okay to have different sized tires (front / rear) on an AWD car?

Not a good idea, unfortunately.

It is best and safest to have identical wheels and tires on all four wheels of Infiniti AWD models, although you don't have to stick with the OEM size (wheel or tire). Else, you will have a lot of unnecessary problems on the ATTESSA system ... worst case, you could have premature failures of the system. The AWD system pretty much assume identical tires and wheels, and only compensates a bit for probable tire inflation problems.

BTW, even if tire and wheel combo's look like they have the same diameter, the reality is that the actual rolling diameter ends up being different due to the varying loads, tire pressures, etc. This still leads to problems ...

Thanks. Wheel vendors are telling me it's no problem to go with a staggered setup even w/AWD cars, but your logic makes sense. ...Wondering if anyone else here had tried it. Guess I may have to stick with 20 X 8.5s, or 20 X 9s... I was told that 20 X 9.5s are too wide for the front..
