Are there any problems with using 19X8.5 in front, and 19X10.0 in rear ?? Any rubbing, and what size tires to use ?

Im new to forum, and just purchased my G35 last week, all help is much appreciated!

Thats the same size used for the front in the stock 19's. The rear will fit without any problems. Check out the wheel and tire section of the site for specific tire sizes. 245/35-19 is the largest for the front...you just have to get the rear size ratio close to stock numbers to keep the VDC happy.

so should the rear be 275/35/19, the rims in the rear will be 10.0 wide, is that wide enough ? or what about 285 or maybe 40 ? what would be the advantage ?

Actually, you could go with a wider tire if you wanted. I'm putting 275's on my stock 19s, and its 8.5". The advantage is a wider rear tire will have more contact with the road-though this is a debatable subject. At any rate, going with that size allows you to increase the front tire width, which will greatly reduce understeer.

Check out this site to play around with the numbers-keep the ratio between the front/rear close to stock.

I just put on a new set of wheels. I went with 19x9.5 front w/ 245/40 and 19x10 with 255/40 rear. No rubbing issues and clearance is good. Enough room to lower an inch even. Offset is 43 front and 45 rear.

I am right there in the same ballpark... as you can read in my signature, I upgraded to 19's also, although I only went with 9.5 in the back. Another important thing to keep in mind is the backspacing offset as Joe mentioned. I went with a mild +20, but my wheels are not quite so deep. I had 35 series put on the front and 30 series put on the back to try to keep the rim to ground clearance equal, and have never had a problem with even the slightest rub with the 275's on the back.

I have 20X8.5 255/30/20 in the front and 20X10 295/30/20 in the rear... then again, im not lowered at all, but i seem to have plenty of room to come down an inch
