yes you can replace a single one...it is a big ***** but you can...fo to any local auto zone or auto parts store and get another one...the only problem getting them out is that they are spot welded on so you have to beat the **** out of them to get them out! Hope that helps

replacing wheel studs is quite easy...you'll want to get one from nissan though, the ones they sell at auto parts stores don't fit.

You need to take the brakes off, don't disconnect the caliper from the line though...and make sure it doesn't hang from the line either, find someplace secure to set it where it won't fall, or hang it out of the way some how.

Hammer out the bad stud (you will want a hammer...hammer substitutes don't really work well) put the new stud in it's place, stack a few washers on it and tighten down the lug nut to pull it through securely. You can also hammer it in from the back, but that's kind of a pain because of the dust shield and other stuff that will get in the way.

Remember to check how tight the lug nut is after you've driven on it for a little bit.

Takes about an hour to do the first time around if you have the tools you need handy...the second time it takes about 15 minutes....I hope I don't figure out how long it takes the third time.

why?

the hub will be harder to put on than a wheel stud.... listen to neurovish and follow his directions exactly. I have done this a million times, its easy.

Spot welded? Auto Zone? Um, no on both acounts. I'd strongly urge anyone to use OE studs only, which are NOT spot welded in. That's just silly to even say.

trust us..... go to your nearset Nissan dealer and get a NEW OEM wheel stud. If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself then take the car to the dealership and have them do it.

Do NOT use old studs.

I got my stud from Pepboys and it worked fine....but they are so cheap, just pick one up from Nissan, since thats the concensus. It was really simply to replace. Neurovish's directions were right on. I hammered mine in, I shoulda just used the lug to pull it into place, hammering it in is a B**CH. No need to let the a**holes at some shop do it when it will cost you like 3 bucks.

Just make sure you say whether it is for the front or back, they are different sizes.

this is very easy to do and I had to do it myself for the first time a few weeks ago....a stud from the nissan dealer only cost about $3-4 and it's better than going to any autoparts store who is going to give you a stud you know nothing about...if you need a wheel nut, it'll only cost you about $5

the brake calipers are high torqued, so you'll need 2 wrenches to torque it loose, or something that will give you leverage....like a pipe...2 wrenches work much better though

be sure to tighten the brake bolts when reassembling....i'd say maybe 0.75-1.00 (maybe just a little more, but not too much...you don't want to seize the bolt) turn after handtight (someone check me on that figure), you'll also need leverage to tighten the bolt, so 2 wrenches should do it, or a socket wrench and a pipe for leverage

don't forget to check how tight it is in a day or two...sometimes they'll take a bit of driving to seat well, so that lug that was tight when you first put the wheel back on might not be anymore.

...and the wheel studs from auto parts stores? If you buy one and it fits you are either lucky or driving a mutant 240...I went to 3 different places (napa, discount auto, and autozone), they all used the same exact hardware and all came up with the same thing in their computer. When I tried putting one of these in my hub it fell right out...the ridges near the head weren't even close to being the proper diameter for holding it in the hub.

The places may have given you a rear stud for the front, thats what happened at Pepboys, and the second place I went to gave me the right size. The rear hole for the stud is smaller than the front.
