wheel specs, for +sizing...

does anyone know the correct offsets and specs for going to larger rims?

the stockers are 15x6.5 but don't know the offset...i've got a set of 17x7.5 at I think +39mm offset, there's someone on another board with a beauty of a set of 17x7 's at 40mm offset...does anyone know the right spec sizes for rims?

I can't help with the offset, but I CAN tell I have a few Japanese pics with J30s wearing 265s and 275s in the back. Safe to say that was probably a 17 or 18 x 9 or so.

Having shoes that wide gives the J an incredibly mean stance.

Go to the Tire Rack web site and shop for wheels.

You can select wheels that the Tire Rack recommends in various diameters and widths for a J30 and then check the specs on the wheels to see the offset that the Tire Rack says will fit. They also recommend a tire size for plus-sized wheels. This will give you a good idea of what you should be looking for even if you decide ot buy from another source.

The Rack is a good starting point, but they can be a bit conservative at times.

Really if you are truly wanting to maximize tread width, then you should take it to a local after market tire shop for measurements. They usually have special tools for measuring your wheel well.

well the sizing seems alright...i'm just basically swapping one aftermarket 17" wheel for another...I'm going tonight to pick them up...so I may have a 17x7.5" set of wheels for sale at some point, incl. tires (235/45/17) since I"ll just get new tires for the new rims...that is just FYI in case anyone interested in buying a set of 17" rims/tires...
