I posted this in a wheel thread earlier:
me wrote:Why is everyone so hellbent on not using spacers? As long as they're hubcentric, you use longer studs, and they're by a reputable company, whats the problem?

I have researched them and have found no incidents where they were applied.

I'm not trying to start a debate, I just want to know this is because I'm planning on running 15mm on all 4 corners when I get the cash, and ifsomeone can tell me why I shouldn't , then I will listen.(no guesses either, I want cold hard facts and evidence.)
So far, nobody has replied to my post.

Until I'm proved wrong and am showed exactly what problem wheel spacers will cause, I'm planning on 15 or 20mm spacers all around.

Just be sure to get hubcentric spacers, longer studs, and don't buy them off Ebay.

I was looking at these, but I'm not so sure about the company and they don't specify if they're hubcentric:http://www.ezaccessory.com/Whe...0.htm

I will probably end up going this route, even though thats a lot of $$$. I could almost sell my wheels/tires and buy some with proper offsets in the first place.http://www.optionimports.com/4065662a.html http://www.livermoreperformanc...ibach

Ive never (personally) heard of anyone frowning on spacers.. i mean they batter your stance.. y wouldnt you want them.. and ive never heard any horror storys either.

Like i said in my earlier post.. just stay away from the cheap ones..and get a good set of studs.. and lugnuts and youll be fine.

First off, this is in the wrong forum.zeroforum/140

There arent really any cold, hard facts about the negative effects of spacers. They do cause more stress on your wheel bearings, but how the hell is somebody going to prove it to you? They also increase rotational mass, which is multiplied because it is also unsprung. In addition to these negative things, most race tracks wont let you pass tech with spacers equipped on your vehicle.

Also, quoted from Chet, the NICO wheel/suspension God.

Spacing stock wheels is pretty odd, but it's your car of course.

I worked at a mainly wheels/tires/suspension performance shop and have always had the mentality that spacers are for fine adjustment (<10mm) unless you're running some really rare wheels. As Chet (who probably knows far more than I) mentions, they mess with more than just your wheels' fitment.

Edit: ....aaaaand moved.
