So whats the deal with wheel spacers. Are they bad and I should stay away from them or is it ok to run up to a certain thickness? If so, what size can i safly use? For people that do use them, did you get them for clearance issues or cosmetic reasons? The reason why I ask is I made a poor decision when purchasing rims, it was a while ago and i didnt know aything about offset and ever since i got them I havent been happy with how far the sit in. I cant afford new rims right now but would like to make them look better, but not if it will have negative effects on my car. Thanks

Most people use spacers b/c of clearence problems, not so much for cosmetics. While personally i would try to avoid them if possible...there is no problem with using them sparingly. The problem is that the spacers will make the wheel stick out so far that you can't get the lugnuts on the studs very far. If you really have to...you can buy longer wheel studs but just try to take it easy on the spacers and u should be just fine.

By no means cheap, but solves the lug nuts problem of using a spacer. Definately clears coilovers up front and give more width for more stability. However, coupled w/ tension rods and sway bar, it does give it a bit more bump steer.
