Can anyone tell me the advanatages of wheel spacers versus buying larger wheels, or vice versa? Any bad thing about wheel spacers? I was told not to exceed 5 mm wheel spacing. I await your response. Thanks!

Wheel spacers push the actual wheel outward. Sedan stock wheels have a 45mm offset. Adding a spacer makes the wheel 40mm offset. I don't know exactly what you are trying to do though. You want a spacer on oem wheels or aftermarket wheels.

You can use more than a 5mm spacer, but you must have longer wheel studs though. 5mm is the most and use oem studs.

Yes, I want the spacer on OEM wheels. Will the 5 mm spacer be okay. and would I be required to use longer studs? And, what would be the effect of the spacer on the alignment and life of the wheels/tires?

there is no effect on alignment, it would be no different than putting different size offset tires on your car that fit. a 5mm spacer will be ok without longer studs.

im looking to get wheel spacers as well. but im getting 25mm spacers... they come with studs... look to get a kit. i dont think 5mm will do a big difference for you. i mean i have 275 in the back and i still am getting either 20mm or 25mm.... i would measure it first and see what you want bud...

The only reason I am sticking with 5MM spacers is to avoid any excessive stresses on the entire suspension system, and to ensure that the original torque values for the bolts, are still applicable. The higher the MM for wheel spacers, the more stress you are placing on the entire rear suspension system, and the more torque you will need to ensure that the tire stays on.

I completely understand where you are coming from. But one must decide between beauty and reality. %mm would probabaly not mak ea difference in terms of beauty, but iti is practical and I don't have to worry too much about the stresses on my suspension. The higher the mm spacer, the more stress and issues you will have on your susoension.

BTW:

If I had more money, i would actually just go ahead and buy bigger wheels or rims. They are better. Since I don't have the money, after my current mods, I am just going to stick to the smallest possible offset, I feel any good suspension should be able to tolerate.
