Hi guys,

So I installed H&R 20 mm spacers hubcentric. Now I'm getting a wobble when I'm going 110-120 kph. I'm pretty sure they are mounted flush to the rotors. Does anyone know of any tips tricks I can use to stop the wobble?
I've already had the wheels balanced and still have the wobble. Originally I had a generic brand spacer and the wobble was unbearable so I went with a trusted name brand and still have the same issue. Could it be my rotors are the issue? Any help is appreciated thanks guys

I recently bought new Infiniti wheels and michelin tires. I had the dealer add spacers (high quality hub centric), balance and align the wheels. I have a wobble that is barely noticeable at low speeds but increases dramatically after about 55-60 mph. I am taking the car to the dealer next week to have plugs, hoses, and belt replaced. I am going to have them remove the spacers (5mm) and re-balance and re-align the wheels. I will let you know if removing the spacers was the issue. My wheels are Infiniti, my tires are Michelin, and the dealer told me at installation that my wheel hubs, steering etc had no issues.

Thanks Larz for the feedback
I took mine off but now I have a slight wobble still. I wonder if they were over torqued and warped a rotor.
It's not bad but definitely not the smooth ride I'm accustomed too

I would definitely look to balance and your tires. Take it to a place that has a road force balancer and look at your rims as well. I don't think it's the spacers.

Good luck to you both.

Are the spacers bolt-on or did they come with extended replacement studs? If they are bolt-on, check to see if the studs protrude beyond the face of the spacer. Some wheels do not have proper relief on the back side to allow for studs that protrude slightly.

Thanks Malbec and k67p67
I'll definitely try those options and the spacers are bolt on. I'm running the stock sport rims

Remember,

My sport wheels have what I would call no relief on the back to allow for bolt on spacers. Take a wheel off and check. I wanted to use my bolt on spacers for my 20" sport wheels and I couldn't do it. The 19" sport wheels do have it.

If your wheels lack the necessary relief, you can run 25mm spacers or use type 1 spacers with extended studs.

I had a similar issue when I ran 20mm H&R spacers with my 20" sport alloys. Just like what Malbec 56 Beast mentions, my wheels couldn't clear the oem studs protruding beyond the spacers. It's very hard to see, but i ended taking a piece of paper and verified that there is a bit of a gap between the wheel and wheel spacer. I ended up purchasing H&R 25mm spacers and it was able to allow the oem studs to sit below the wheel spacers.

Great info CRV, didn't that make the wheels stick out to far. Do you have any pics? I am contemplating selling them but I love the look. Would the 25mm spacers allow for about an inch or so drop?

Hey Andy here is a photo of the OEM studs (the darker studs) protruding beyond the H&R spacers. Unfortunately I dont have a photo of the 25mm spacer installed since I was in a rush to install them right before the first snow fall last winter.

At stock height the sport alloys do protrude a bit beyond the fender (not pictured) . But I am really low now (over 2.5" drop) and the sport alloys do tuck inside the fender but its almost flush to the body.

I don't know why but it says I need to update my account to allow for this party hosting where your pics are, I never had an issue seeing people locks but now I can't. Never had a photo bucket account.

Any ideas

I have the same problem, but I really need tires. Will be installing new tires Wednesday, balance with road force and do an alignment. I have 20mm spacers. Hope the vibration goes away.

So I wonder if anyone has succefully added an 18mm or 20mm spacer with the OEM 20" sport wheels.

Is there a way to replace the OEM studs and use slightly shorter ones?

Yes. You can get the spacers that come with new studs that replace the OEM ones
