wheel spacer/adapter width?

Hi, I have a stock 2002 qx4. I'm thinkin about getting some wheel spacers to enhance the look. I was wondering if yall had suggestions for the width of the wheel spacing I should get. tires and everything are stock. I was thinking maybe 1.25in? is 1.5in too much?
