i'm a newbie.... have so many Qs...y people get fronts smaller width than rear.. obviously it works in some ways..

for cars making enough power, it helps controll the "snap oversteer" problem, especailly in turbo cars(like supras, RX_7's, etc) where if the turbo spools mid corner it can spin the rears quite unexpectedly.

unfortunately, if the car already understeers, it will produce even more....most people dont realise that. FOr a RWD platform, split offsets do have uses, but most people dont have the suspension, or power to make them of any use except to "look like a race car"

there are exceptions(chris may, nils, etc) who need the exra width on the rear to help keep their cars handling more neutraly.

i think its good enough for me thanks~!so there is no need for staggered look... for performance... most cars don't have enough power... i guess it's just for the looks..thanks.
