Eh hey all.. Hoping for a little guidance here. I have a 1990 300zx na 2 +2. Right now it has stock wheels on it. I want to put 17s on it. However I have read through a zillion posts about wheel size and am still confused. Lol. I need to know what wheel/tire size I should be looking for and info on the offset etc. I have OEM calipers on as well. I am a little lost on what size, Offset, width, do I need spacers.. And if I get or need spacers do I need to get different lug threads? I want a good look not looking for overly wide or anything. Looking for a balance between look and performance. Was thinking 17x9.

Thoughts?

IMO, 17x9 is a nice mid range size and upgrade. For a square set up I would use tire size 255/40/17, and look for wheel with offset of around +30mm (+/-5 mm offset). This should yeild a nice aggressive look. With the proper offset, there is no need for spacers.

The offset is a little aggressive for my style, but should fit. Be sure to get hub centric rings for the 73.1mm/66.1mm bore

I don't like the "universal" 100/114.3 wheels. Looks messy.

Those wheels are pretty heavy for 17". Are you ever going to be doing any tracking?

You don't need as much meat on the NA, but I think I'll be going with 17 x 8.5 in the front with 245 width tires, and 17x9.5 in the rear for 275 width tires on my TT.

No no tracking. I was just trying to find wheels in the style I like with a minimal cost. These were xxr wheels. But I'm just trying to find what I like without breaking the bank. This is not daily driver or track so it gets driven let than a few thousand a year at most

Gotcha, that's totally legit then, I wouldn't worry as much about the weight. I'd still consider the non-universal option for looks though.
