I used to own a civic hb and I traded it for my pignose. I have a set of nice wheels that were on my civic. They are 17x8 and probally +38 or +40 My question is can I run these wheels without using any spacers? I know they will sit inside the fender and look dumb but what I want to know is there any clearance problems with brakes or anything like that. I just wanna run them untill I can sell them or whatever. I just don't wanna have to spend 250 dollars on some spacers when I can just buy the right wheels. Also what is a good offset for a 240. I was thinking like +15 or +17 would that be ok? Sorry for the same dumb question but my search did not give me an exact answer. Thanks,Adam

Are you sure they are 17x8? Most people run 17x7s on civics? Does the wheel measure 8 inches from edge to edge? If so, it is a 7" wide wheel.

If they are 7" wide, run 30-35mm spacers.

If they are 8" wide, run 20mm spacers.

If they are 17x8+38 or +40, they won't even fit without spacers.

Another thing I should add: There is no golden offset number. What is a good offset depends on how wide the wheel is you are trying to run, as well as your ride height, and tire choice.
