I just put new tires on my stock wheels and they vibrate after 70 miles an hour. Much like an unbalanced wheel. I rebalanced them today and it still shimmys. stock 92 7 spoke wheels, kumho 711 205/55/r15 tires. Any ideas? Wheel is not warped or damaged.

Where'd you get the tires installed, and did they match mount and balance with a Hunter9700 ??

I installed them, I balenced them first With a hunter machine, I dont know the model number. The second Time I used a snap on balance machine. I bought em off tire rack. There doesnt appear to be much tire run out either.

Is this a constant vibration over 70 or does it stop once the tires warm up? I'm wondering if it's the nylon belt package wrap. A lot of the newer high performance tires have this construction feature now. It will give you a vibration until the tire warms up. If you contact customer service directly they can work with you to get that resolved. If it's a tire defect, that would be covered under the uniformity waranty and they can walk you through that.

great, thanks grant, im going to rotate them so I can try to locate the exact tire thats causeing me problems. How long do tires take to warm up? I usually cant get to the highway in less than 10 minutes, are they warm by then?

I've noticed that the vibration kinda goes away when turning. My TC bushings are only a half year old and my ti rod end feels tight.

Infiniti recommends 15 minutes as 55 mph as sufficient to warm up tires prior to putting then on Hunter 9700. The car should not be allowed to sit on tires for longer than 5 minutes before being put on lift to get the weight off them.

This is not followed frequently and many tires are mis balanced and radial force measurements are in error.

Dennis, didn't you post awhile back that the dealerships are required to move the cars in the dealer lots on a regular basis to minimize that effect on the tires? That was a great post and I can't find the link now.... one of my customers was asking about this and I wanted to have him see it here.

I finaly had a chance to rotate the tires and the vibration went away. So I guess that narrows my problem down to one of the tires that are now on the rear axle. Im going to recheck the balance of those when i have some time at work.

are you guys all technicians?
