had my front tires serviced in January. Ever since, have a real shimmy with the front tires when hitting 40 -45 km/hour. Once you get to 80km., seems fine. Dealership says everything is fine, but it's like driving a clown car with wheels that feel like they're going to fall off. Anyone else have a problem like this that the dealership actually solved. Love the car in general, HATE the dealership!

you may also have one wheel out of balance. That was those little weights take care of around the rim.

thanks, but asked the dealer to check all that - pretty basic, but they don't check anything unless you ask, and even then...... They say they did all that, but don't know if they did or not. Had a steering problem with my Sentra before this, and they kept telling me I was imagining it, until surprise, a month after the warranty went off, they tell me my power steering rack was shot and I needed a new one. Which of course they would be glad to do for about $1400 Canadian. Just afraid they are trying that nonsense again. (and no, I didn't pay for the repair for the power steering - hissy fits are useful sometimes.) Considering just getting a Toyota - too bad - like the Versa, but don't need to spend time at the garage.

I assume "tire service" mentioned by the OP means rotate the tires, or possibly balance and rotate the tires. Over the years, anytime I had a car that shook (usually felt in the steering wheel) at a certain speed and then it smoothed out, the problem has almost always been a tire out of balance, or a defective tire. Sometimes if the problem tire is on the rear of the vehicle, you may not feel the problem, but when it gets rotated to the front, it becomes apparent.

Take it back to the dealership, get them to drive it with you. Chances are they will claim there is no problem. If they don't do anything take it to a good tire shop and pay for a balance if you have to. You have to make sure it is a tire problem and not something more serious.

I have 26k on my V. Approx every 6000 miles I rotate the tires myself. It is rare when a tire actually needs to be rebalanced if it is good to begin with.

Thanks - yes, that was going to be my next step. I think they think I'm just imagining it, but lent the car to a friend without warning him about it, and he commented that "there was something seriously wrong with this car at 45" - so I know that I am right. Been looking to see if there was anything else posted for this model about this (it's a 2007), but seems like it's just my problem. I think the dealership just doesn't want to admit that they screwed something up when they cleaned the rotors, etc.

talk to a manager, and see what happens... it could be anything at this point... have you tried taking your car to another nissan dealership?

unfortunately, there is only one dealership here - have to drive over an hour to get to another one. Might be why they are so unhelpful. Talking to management is usually an exercise in frustration. Had a friend who bought an infiniti there, and thought he was going to have a stroke dealing with them. e.g. take your car in for service, and the guys eat their lunch and have a smoke in your car - I kid you not!

Finn,Any resolution to the problem?

Superskunk is right about talking to a manager. I had a different problem with mine, the dreaded clunk when turning to the right. After three or four unsuccessful trips to dealership, I read through the owners manual. There was a section on how to deal with mechanical problems with dealership. I followed the instructions and called the manager of the dealership. Using the words and terminology in the manual and speaking very calmly and friendly, I explained the situation. The manager said he would take care of the problem.

Thirty minutes later I received a call from the service manager who told me to bring the car in again. They would put me in a rental and find the problem and fix it. They did.

I realize not every dealership will be as professional.
