I recently acquired a 2008 G35 journey with Premium, Nav, Tech and the staggered sport 18 in. wheels. I really like the car with the exception of the wheels. I'd like to get the same size wheel on all corners. Do you guys recommend going with the 7.5 or 8.5. Also will changing the wheel set up necessitate any changes in any of the electronic settings for the speedometer, odometer or suspension etc?
TIA for any advice.

I'd recommend replacing the fronts (18x7.5) with a set of the rear 18x8.5 wheels. Not only would you have a more aggressive stance and appearance to the front of your vehicle, but you'd improve ground traction slightly as well as reduce the overall weight of the vehicle - the 18x8.5 wheels are about 1.3lbs lighter than the 18x7.5 wheels. The change in width between the two wheels is so minimal that I'd doubt it'd affect the speedometer, so you shouldn't worry about that. Suspension wise, no changes or problems there either with replacing the fronts.

Good luck with the swap and welcome to NICO! :wavey:

Thanks for the info Eric. I 'm glad I asked 'cause I was going to do the opposite. The way to really lighten the car is for me to lose about 50 lbs.

Let's tackle the wheel replacements first. Then we can talk about your diet… :rotfl

I assume you have the sport edition staggered wheels and want the ability to X-rotate?

That is correct. I want to rotate the tires to get better tread wear. Is there any down side to changing the wheels? Also who makes the OEM wheels? I want to be sure not to get an inferior knockoff.
TIA

Enkei is the manufacturer of the more recent OEM wheels
