I'm looking at the ASA AR1. Excellent price and I can get them from Tirerack (whihc gave me an excellent experience when I last ordered from them).

+35mmLightweight: 22.0 lbs. 18x8

Keep in mind that my Q's trim is painted black, not the stock tan, gold, or silver.

A cheap photochop...

It's tough to find an 18" tire that can handle the Q's weight without getting so tall it hurts acceleration, braking and causes the speedo to be way off. How about 17"?

Not if you go Michelin PS2 or Pirelli Asymmetrico, both in 255/40-18. Get the high load rated versions, ~98. But be prepared to spend.

Sadly, 17" performance tires are a dying breed.

I that a two piece wheel? If it's not, the fake bolts are just extra performance robbing mass.

Yeah the BBS RS-GT's are my first choice by far but they'd set me back about 3k! For that, I'd sell my Q and use the 3k I could spend on the wheels to buy a 94 or 95 black on black Q45t. (btw if anybody see's one, find me!)

If I had any color other than the Dark Emerald Pearl, I'd be right on those. I'd been looking at them for a while but finally decided they're just not gonna match well with such a dark green.

I LOVE the 18" ASA's on Lola. Check out my Member's Ride section. Click on a picture in my signature.

The only issue has been the peeling of the clear coat, which happens on every wheel I own.

I got mine from a guy who owned a GS300. I had to replace the hub centric rings. I am not sure of the offset (maybe 40 mm), but they are 18" x 8"

A 245/45-18 tire ought to go very well with 18x8 wheels. There are many of those with the right load rating and the 18x8 with a 35mm offset ought to fit the Q wells nicely!

However, my only concern would be the weight of the Q on those relatively light wheels. Does ASA guarantee them for such a heavy car?

Get some 350Z track wheels, they're light strong and have good offsets (Get 4 rears for best offset).

I like the ones you have picked, but would be concerned, as well, about their ability over the life of you using them.

I decided to go with 17's instead. I don't want to break my wallet getting tires for the 18's. There's many more 17" [tire] options. I have some wheels picked out but I just need to contact the manufacturer to see make sure they can handle the weight of the Q.

Some might wonder why I want black wheels on a white Q, and my answer to that is because I want something a little bold or daring. My last Q had chrome which looked nice, but slowed it down. Now I have some nice, but overly conservative Fittipaldi's. After much research, I've narrowed it down to the following two:

These (my preference - except they'd be in hyper dark, not silver)5Zigen 5ZR Copse

Or these5Zigen Pro-N1

IMO, the 18's are much better looking, and ASA is a quality brand. I have 235's in front, with a 95 load rating, 245's in back with a 97 (info is in that tire sticky).

The 5zigen wheels are both more of sport compact wheels, especially the Pro-N1's.

Get these and have them powder coated .

You'll need tires, but that's okay

As much as I like the track wheels, I'm goin against it because I know you and Wes already have gone that route. I'm really trying to go away from what anybody else here has done.

I hear you, i was pissed that Rex got some for his Q because I wanted to be the only one Not to mention he got a MUCH better deal...

BTW, i think the 18x8.5s would be too wide for the front with the offset... Just FYI

I was thinking the 18x8.5 w/ 33 offset would make the best set??? Time to go back and measure/calc again.

Remember the difference in TOTAL offset is only 1mm or so..... In theory, it wouldnt really make much difference, you could even rotate them with the staggered setup and it woudlnt look retarted.... you wouldnt know.

Okay, if you used 4 Rays 350Z Track rears (18x8.5 / 33 offset), then you'd be able to rotate and the "new" front would only (theoretically) stick out 3mm more, but would protrude in 9mm more towards the suspension. And you could rotate the (all same size) tires .

Wes - wanna trade fronts and rears?

Evan - Sorry about the hijack.

I dont really think im following you buddy......

What you said is correct.. Take the fronts (30mm offset, 8in wide), compare that with the rear and they will stick out 3mm more but stick in 9mm more... 1 cm (10mm=1cm) woudl be hardly noticeable and 3mm would be equally worthless...

What im saying, lets run 245s or 255s all aroud, on the 8s and 8.5s, and just rotate those... it may "feel" stupid, but no one would ever know!!

Im not interested in trading because I plan on keeping my staggered setup, probably running 235s or 245s and 255s, may even do 265 again, but not sure.

Thought about getting them from japan??

18" BBS RS-GT Or how about some 19's hey?

17" rims just look small on a Q. I'm running 18" Work VS rims on mine, 8.5" front and 9.5" rear, cant remember the offset.

Wow, I like those ... well maybe not in the gold, but .

And those BBS would be sweet, but any savings in price by getting those from japan would be lost in shipping .
