which styles do you think looks better on a Radiant Silver Coupe? I'm thinking about getting 19'' ...... I got a quote for 1900 including the 19'' rims, mounting, balancing and Falken tires, not sure which model. Is that a good price?

I am a big fan of the Touring style rim... So I'd say the second one, I was never a big fan of 5 spoke rims, except the SER Spec V Rims

I like the first choice but if you can, get one without the Rivets...not a fan.

Both styles will look good silver on silver is a no brainer - Are those both Axis wheels. If so the first style looks much better in person than it does in the picture - I considered both of these styles for my Desert Platinum G.

As for the rivets - both sets of wheels have them. It seems that many forum members dislike the rivets - on these wheels the rivets are "fake". On higher end multi-piece wheels rivets are used to hold the 3 pieces of a multi-piece wheels together - like the now classic 3 piece BBS mesh wheel (one of the hottest wheels ever made).

The "fake" rivets are used in lower line wheel to give the appearance of the more expensive multi-piece wheels.

Of the two, the second one definitely looks better. Those are the Penta's, right? If you're looking at the Axis line of wheels, check out their HIRO or REVERB wheels too; they look somewhat like the Nismo 18's. But if you're planning on spending almost $2K, why not find a nice set of used NISMO, RAYS, or WORK forged ones? They will be much more durable and a lot lighter than Axis wheels.

BTW, if the Falken's are FK452's, they're very sticky tires with pretty good tread life. Definitely get them and you won't be disappointed!

Looks like lots of guys are looking for 19" wheels/tires for their Coupe. Let me poke around on http://www.tirerack.com and see what kind of "deals" can be found on quality wheels.

Looks like ~8.5 wide with on offset in the +40 range, would anything more aggressive work?

I like the second ones better. I have some rims sorta like the first ones on my car but I haven't put it in my sig because I need to resize it.

I'm new to custom wheels, Volks are just too pricey for me. What are some good brands that are not too expensive? I can afford Axis brand rims but not much more

Axis is a quality cast aluminum wheel. The distinguishing feature on the Axis is the deep lip compared to many aftermarket wheels even other manufactures with "deep dish" wheels.

The main difference in aftermarket wheels is construction. Cast vs. Forged aluminum. Cast are heavier, less expensive than forged. I think most folks who for example have shown pictures on this forum have bought Cast aluminum aftermarket wheels - they are good for most people. Forged wheels are stronger and lighter in weight - it's a matter of whether you can afford them or feel they are worth the extra cost.

As others have said you may be able to pick up a used set of forged wheels if you are inclined to do so. The 19" G35 alloys would be a good come up - i think these are otherwise known as the Rays wheels mentioned earlier in the thread.

Good Luck

Quality wheels cost when you buy them, cheap wheels can cost "as you won them".

Cheap (but not all cast) wheels can bend or break. Some easier than others. Then you have to replace the wheel and some times tire. Not to mention how little you'll get for them when/if you sell them.

What is the factory wheel/tire - size, width, offset, aspect ratio, etc?

I think there are probably some options out there that will allow you to have both quality and a fair price.

I'm a bit of a wheel whore, so I'm always looking though, I'm fairly happy with my current set-up.

Only thing is I've changed to a White Q45.

Seriously, check out the classified section here on NICO and your local craigslist to see if you can pick up a set of forged wheels. Many people change out and sell there wheels on a regular basis. You'd be suprised at the kind of deals you can come across if you just look around. Like Cali said:

Forged is the only way to go if you're going to run large wheels with low series tires. If you're planning on keeping your wheels for years to come, you may end up having to find an extra wheel if you damage yours. It really sucks when your model is discontinued and you only have 3 rims!!

Check these out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

Too bad you didn't live in Hawaii! A guy is selling a like-new set of these same Nismo's for $1200 w/like new tires. I almost bought them but I found my set.

Go with the first ones. Why does everyone want their car to look like a BMW. The second rims are over used and over rated. The rivets aren't functional but they add an aggressive/racier look. Nismo rims are too expensive and generic, go with the first.
