40 would be bad for a 240. just buy rims with the right offset, save yourself the headache. with spacers youll need to get longer studs to be safe technically.

telling us a wheel has a 40 offset without telling us the size of the wheel is like telling a doctor that you're in pain, but not telling him where when he asks where you hurt.

what are you trying to clear? coilovers? zbrakes? what wheel is it?

yeah, that doesn't help either.

need to know width.

i have a feeling you're going to say somewhere in the 7 to 8 range. so, assuming that, no, +40 is not a good offset. It will look sunken in, and depending on the wheel, you may have suspension / brake clearance problems.

Aim for something in the 25-30 range for easy fitment on a 7/8" wheel. If you can't find anything like that... buy the wheel, put it on, measure how much farther you want it to be out or how much room you need to clear suspension or brakes and then head to http://www.wheelspacer.com and get some made. He makes some of the most awesome spacers you'll ever see and they won't create lots of problems inherent in like sandwich spacers or something like those.

I suppose you got a good deal on them?

I'd sell them and buy some other volks in 17" with more proper offsets. Those wheels might clear stock suspension, but don't dream of coilovers unless you want to get wheel spacers... I don't think they would look sunken in. They would stick out about an inch farther than stock wheels... so..

Thanx Im prob going to stick with 20mm spacer to be safe, ide rather have the wheel stick out then sunken, either way, im sure im going to get my fender pulled a little... Im tryin to find anyplace that makes 4lug to 5lug including the spacers:)

thanx agn

also update on the specs.. since i was measuring the wheel myself.. I even though it would read 8.5 or 8 it was actually:

18 x 8 +4418 x 7 +4X

what a bummer.. but agn i cant complain.. shoud be a lil easier to work with
