I am looking at a set of 15 in wheels that have a offset of 35 and a back spacing of 5. What is offset and back spacing? is it how far the wheel will stick out. The wheels are 15 x 6.5 with the offset of 35 plus a back spacing of 5. With these rim fit my 89 s13 coupe comfortably. BTW the bolt pattern for the 4 lug is 4 x 114, right? Thanks

I'm not picking on you, but did you read the sticky?? It has a picture that explains offset much better than someone could in words.

Its impossible for a 6.5" wide wheel to have 5" backspacing with a +35mm offset. Offset and backspacing are mathematically related (like torque and horsepower).

The sticky also list the specs of your stock wheels and links to a calculator that can compare width and offset of your stock wheels vs your new ones.

The 'stickies' are at the top of the list of threads. The have a red tag that says "stuck" next to the title. Here's a link to the wheel FAQ...

I would believe the +35mm offset measurement rather than the 5" backspacing. Offset/backspacing does tell you how far the wheel sticks out. Lower offsets (+25)stick out more than higher (+35) offsets. A -10 offset will stick out REALLY far.

If you have more questions, dont be afraid to ask. The Wheel/Tire guys know their stuff. Just make sure youve done some research first.

Heres the specs from the stickys:Maxima.............................. '85-88......14/15"......4-4.5...66.06

Thanks again for your time and info

I dont know the Maxima's wheel specs. If you cant find it by googling, just use the factory wheel's specs.15x6 +40mm
