I ordered some volk 17x9 and 17x10 volk CE28N rims last week. The offset for the front and back is 28 or 29. I have some cheap coilovers and tokicko shocks on too with R32 front brakes and 300zx rear brakes. Do you think the offset is fine because I want it to have a flush look with some good size tires for traction because im defiently gonna need it. Will the front rims clear or should I have gotten a higher offset? Need some advice asap because they cost so damn much and I don't want them to go to waste if they don't fit but I gotta wait 3 months anyways because they are special order.

they'll rub. you needed a lower offset, and fener flares to run anything wider than an 8" wheel. please refer to my otehr posts and search around before I light you like a bonfire for assuming width=traction.-chet

I'll have wide fenders when I get my rims. I'll just use spacers when I put them on so my offset will be low enough. I plan on running drag radials 24/7 with these rims cuz i'm gonna need all the traction I can get. Wouldn't having more tread on your tire get you better traction? Dat is why I thought people put wide *** tires on their car unless they would want full drag then they want tall *** tires. Either way I ordered them and I hope they match up nicely with the wide fenders using the spacers. I wanted to do something very few people have done which is why I got a rb26 going in it and a S15 vertex kit on the way =). I'll send pics when it gets all done.

Just so chet, doesn't get a lighter ready. Its all about physics. Having a wider tire on the same car does not produce more traction. The contact patch is the same no matter the tire width. Search through this section of the forum to get more details why.
