Using the numbers suggested from the wheel offset suggestion provided on this site, I've tried to find some wheels that I like for my non AWD/non Brembo '04 G35 sedan. I really like the Konig Lace wheels. The black rim with polished mesh center is the best look I've found for me. The sizes I'd like to get are 18X8 and 18X9.5 with 245/45's and 275/40's. The only issue, which I hope isn't really an issue, is the available back spacing. According to what I've found in the info below, I'm thinking I need a +45mm offset on the front and +35 to +40 on the rear. These wheels, according to the dealer, only come with a +35mm on the 18X8 and +45 on the 18X9.5. I'm hoping that they will work and not have any kind of clearance or alignment issues. I'm thinking that the .39" variation on the front and the .2" to .39" variation in the rear aren't that much, but also realize it might actually be that tight in those fender wells. I know how some of you guys eat, live and breathe these cars so I trust your opinions on this. Thanks, Keith

Aweome site! Thanks! I have to ask though..........why not go by the manufacturers specs? If they don't know their own specs then who do you trust? I inquired about these wheels at a custom wheel dealer and he called to get the specs while I was standing there in the store. Not trying to be a smartass but that statement genuinely confuses me. It would appear that these wheels will work based on what I've seen on the link you gave me. Even though the back spacings I saw were on 19" wheels, I'm assuming I'd have no problem with 18's. I'm thinking I'll have to roll the rear lips but I have a buddy that's been doing body work for 30+ years so I don't think that should be a problem.

its very simple... as long as your break caliber clears... and your wheel doesn't hit the fender as your shock travels?

you can fit the most obscene wheel fitment your mind can imagine. its not about, what fits... its about how you want it to fit, there are no rules.

check the specs for 18" wheels. also... I realize you're new to the g35 wheel fitment scene, spend some time on our forum looking at member cars and copy things that inspire you. Don't be impressed by anything lame.

EDITED BY GWHIZZ...PLEASE DO NOT LINK MEMBERS TO A COMPETING FORUM.personally im really out there, and wheel fitment is a chance to express oneself. I hope im helping, but honestly dont spend money on mediocre wheels. A g35 can be a show stopper if you commit to it with style.

- peace

Well, being an engineer (RF-cable tv systems) in a past life until the stress of it got to me, I'm pretty exact when I do something. I've spent hours just looking at wheel designs and pics of other cars. I'm going with a flush type setup but also with enough room to guarantee the tires never even so much as gently rub the fenders in the hardest curve or deepest pot hole. I'm paying alot of attention to the suspension geometry right now trying to figure out what degree of arc the wheels travel as the suspension compresses. I'm sure it's not much but that behavior is inherent in almost all independent rear suspensions. That and the clearance behind the hub/wheel mating surface will help in determining how much offset I can play with out back. But............it's easier to just ask those who've already travelled down this road what works and what doesn't. I've learned enough from past mistakes to acknowledge the advice of others with more experience when in doubt.

As far as price, I'm just going with what I like as far as looks. I could care less about bragging rights that come with a set of rims and tires requiring Congressional budget approval in the form of an earmark. Actually, as cheap as I can get away with without compromising safety or cosmetics is all I'm after. This is still just a casual car to play with just a little bit. I appreciate the links and advice but I'm kinda sold on these particular rims if I can figure out for sure they'll work and still look right. If I find out that they won't work, I'll mov on to the next choice but I'm definitely trying to stay with the polished or chromed center with black rims. Again, I appreciate the links..especially the one with all of the different cars to compare sizes and fitments.

If you really like those wheels, then 18x8 w/35mm offset will fit fine up front and 18x9.5 w/45mm offset will fit fine in the rear. There is even room to run a spacer front and rear.

The tire sizes I would recommend are 245/40/18 front amd the 275/35/18 or 265/40/18 rear.

Wow! Busy week. I almost forgot I'd posted this. I was reading over everything and noticed I might have come off as a smart a** before. sorry. I wasn't trying to. I was just trying to convey just how obsessed I get with making sure something's right before doing it. I'm more into mods that look like they're from the factory or the way the factory "should" have done it as opposed to having a bunch of add ons just for the sake of having them. Anyone who's got that "engineers" brain, regardless of profession, understands. We get into even the tiniest of details to a fault. I can literally get a stress headache digging into ideas for customizing cars and bikes. Don't get me started on the Harley.

Anyway, I appreciate the advice and I think I'll order these wheels this winter. Until then, I'm going to keep looking to try and find everything out there so I don't get these only to find something better a month later. Of course, that'll probably happen anyway. It always does!

One more question............should I roll the rear fender lips or will the 275's fit in there ok?

Thanks again, K
