thats why you shouldnt use impacts on lug nuts.

thats what torque wrenchs are for.

sounds like the stud popped out of its seating.

or your may have stripped the lug nut.

depends on what foolish things you may have done previously and what kind of area you have to actually get in there with a pliers or w.e

heat may help as well.

If you can without messing up your wheel, try to get a pry bar or a pick behind the lug nut to put some tension on the threads and try to back it off that way. If that doesnt work, tighten it back up even more and try to back it off again.

On Topic. If you have the tools, chisel that fukker outta there, whenever i have severely seized nuts (no jokes about this). I just chisel them till they break off or come loose

get a small angle grinder and the cut stud in the back of the hub cut it in a X then once it breaks stick a tool and a hammer to pound it out or get a torch and break the nut

pff... I just wanted to rotate my tires... little did I know it took me like a whole day just to remove one wheel

btw... if your stud's like the one pictured above... chances are your hub's stud hole is rounded out too, and the whole hub might need to be replaced...

sorry to be the bearer of bad news

just make sure and check that out too.

if you funked a lug nut up REMOVING IT then you have some real skills.

CROSS THREADING IT or OVER TORQING IT installing it with a impact gun is far more likely cause of your issue. specially if you just recently install them.

dont reply? your the tool bag that cant remove a lug nut.....

Ive had a couple of studs do this. But instead of putting something between the wheel and lug i just put pressure on the back of the wheel with all the other lugs off. Works every time! If you waste time using a torque wrench your a mcasshole!

I recently did brake pads on my dads maxima. Let me tell you, the driver wheel had 2 messed up lugs b/c people at STS rotated the tires and used an impact gun to tighten the lug nuts.

1 lug was completely stripped when i removed it, the stud was bare and looked like a metal tube with no thread on itthe 2nd lug was also cross threaded so tight that it wouldnt even budge and we (it took 2 people) actually got the lug to move a 1/8th turn, the whole lug snapped.

IMO, never EVER do lug nuts w/ an impact gun. Easy to cross thread studs, overtighten, strip struds, and in your case shred the hole where the stud would be thus replacing a whole hub which will run u 250-300 dollars. Get down there, get a 4 point wheel wrench (basically a big + sign with different sockets at each end) and do it by hand this way you feel the threading and you can tell whether your doing it right or cross threading thusly saving a stud.

/end rant

yeah don't use a torque wrench because threading the lug nuts on to the lugs is to difficult to do right?

Wow, I've never ever had a problem with an impact gun, I worked for gm for 7 years we all used impact guns, there are torque bits you have to put on the gun then connect the lug socket, if you use the impact gun and just the lug socket of course its gonna mess it up, who'd be stupid enough to use it without, then again I bought mine from the snapon truck, I don't think I've seen them anywhere else

The guy stated he used the impact gun to remove the lug nuts never did he say he used one to tighten them down so mabye stop going on about it I'm sure he doesn't care to hear the same information over and over. We all know torque sticks should be used when tightening lugs with an impact gun. I used to use an impact in autoshop back in HS because tha'ts what the teacher always did. But since then I always just use a torque wrench.

Sorry to bite your guy's heads off but he has an issue if you dont have a suggestion then say GL or man that sucks and move along

GL getting it off man. Just last night I had issue with a wheel lock stripping. Ended up having my friend weld a normal lug nut to the end of it and then taking it off, tho that solution won't work for you

I didn't mean it to the OP just the people saying that impact guns.....nevermind, OP friend of mine had that problem on his truck, he said he doesn't know how the hub looks but if it is the stud try to push the lug nut in and see how far the back of the stud comes out, maybe you can get a grinder and cut off the head and with a screwdriver and a hammer push it out the other side with the nut, but if the stud is spining with nut chances are you're gonna have to replace the hub.Hope that helps out
