I have a m45 that I think has a wheel hub in need of replacement, but wanted to get some input before the trigger again.
I have replaced the hub on the driver side front, thinking that was the one, but was wrong, it did not solve the issue. I am about to purchase a second hub…
Notes:
- The sound is vehicle speed dependent
- The sound if not dependent on engine speed or load
- The sound is not dependent on transmission or drivetrain
- The sound begins at around 25mph and increases in pitch the faster I drive
- The sound does not change based on side load (swerving left/right)
- Don’t have play when off the ground, either up/down or left/right -outside some minor left/right when the rack and pinion engages.
- The tires spin freely by hand when on jacks
- There is no grinding sound when spinning by hand

I am looking to confirm that this is wheel bearing or something else before I drop another $200 bucks.
Thanks for any input you can give!
