1. is this normal and will is damage the lsd?

2. if it will damage the lsd how do I fix it?

Are you making a turn if so then this is really common for a 2way mechanical LSD.

That has to do with your other suspension components(i forget which ones exactly). You'll need to probably replace your bushings and a couple of the links to correct it. Maybe someone can chime in and provide the parts needed.

yes its common. Most 2 ways make popping, chirping, or clunking noise when making turns at low speed. To test if you get wheel hop, go out and dump the clutch in 1st or 2nd gear. Most of the time wheel hop is caused by bad Subframe Bushings. Sometimes subframe collars can help stiffen the subframe but that depends on how bad the stock bushings are. In my situation ive got Subframe Collars in but my stock bushings are so bad i get wheel hop up to 3rd gear in wet weather. Time for new Subframe Bushings for me.

If you have blown struts or coilovers this will be the issue.

I don't know why so many people are saying it is your suspension under low speed low load.

I have the same diff but it is really a 2way clutch deal more than that particular diff. Like some of the guys said it is completely normal. The harshness depends on how much throttle and how tight the turn.

Some say it gets better as the diff gets older but I don't drive mine that much so I couldn't say.

Also the bushings and stuff are very valid if you are launching your car, doing a burn out, spinning in the rain, ect. Like one other dude I put collars in and it got somewhat better but after recently dropping my subframe I found that one of my bushings was fully cracked.

BTW the es kit was a pretty big pita to do. I put that in with a new(er) subframe when I put my nismo 2way and 4.3final drive in. Depending on on how much you use your car you might think about the spl full subframe bushings rather than the rear es bushings. I was a little dissapointed with mine for all the work it took but then again I dont really drift or anything like that.
