I drive a 2000 altima gxe, and i was wondering how i cou ld either cut down or get rid of wheel hop. because i lost a race not to long ago for it and i would really not like that to happen when i go to the track this weekend. Basically what happened was i was going off the line and i launched just under 2 at about 1800 which is where my power bar starts if i am correct, and the thing just jumped off the ground and continued to do so until i slamed second. So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

better tires, and launch at lower RPMs, i think its wierd, i have an o2 altima and i launch at 25oorpm and i dont have any wheel hop, maybe theres something wrong with your suspension set-up, camber?shock?springs?, check all of these settings to see if ur suspension is still at stock form, or have u modified it??

Well wheel hop is just a problem on lots of FWD cars. You can feather the clutch which is generally done and having stiffer suspension and polyurethane motor mounts will help out considerably.

well i have upgraded my suspension by adding stiffer springs but i still have the stock shocks, however it isnt really anything like a honda when you put on the lowering springs it rides surprisingly good for the stock shocks and the lowering springs, but i still get really bad wheel hop. when i go to the meet i was planning on changing my tires there and hopefully i dont get wheel hop as bad as i do when i am riding on my low profile tires. I used to never have that problem at all whenever i used to launch when the entire thing was stock, but i have changed a couple things since then so.

im assuming he means not revving and just dropping the clutch, but slowly letting it out, my friend drives a 99 honda accord 4cyl 4door and he gets pathetic wheel hop, thats why i kill him so bad in drags, and i beat him from roll ons too, just had to add that:D

Yeah by feathering if you have a manual, then just let out the clutch slower so it deosn't grab as hard and make the tires break loose. Other than that I say get you some nice motor mounts.

im pretty sure HKS makes engine mounts, if its them im thinking of, they are awesome, and also topdollar as well, which still isnt THAT expensive, and that should reduce ur hop greatly

well i changed my tires at the track and had tremendous results and actually had no wheel hop the entire day so the next time i race i will be sure to do that. And my best time was 15.8 @ 86.3
