i posted on the rims thread with no answer, so i figured i'd try my luck here.

Would an 08 3.5 cvt (no drop) be able to run 20x8.5s with a 10mm offset and stock brakes/calipers without rubbing? would i need spacers? how much more uncomfortable would the ride be? just found a really good deal on some rims that wont last long so if someone could answer reallllll quick i'd really appreciate!

I'm running the same setup except I'm dropped and 30 offset. Not even close to rubbing so I think you should be fine. Ride quality went down hill a little bit but that's what u give up for the stance. Wait for a second opinion just to be 100% sure.

Eh... you do realize the OP said they're on stock suspension?
:luck: on not having a ridiculous amount of poke. Unless that's what OP's looking for.

Yeah I think you are going to poke just a little bit. I run 19 x 8.5 +45 and Im a little less than a half inch from flush. If you add 35mm to that which equals 3.5cms or 1.37 inches, you are going to be about .75 inches past the fenders. If you are running stock suspension (or even dropped for that matter), its going to look odd.

So is there anyway that I could get them to sit flush? I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to wheels lol.

Nope, you need a higher offset.

You can take your car in for an alignment and ask them to make your camber more negative while keeping the toe in spec. But that might look weird on stock suspension

+10 offset? nono dont do that. That will look like you have a Widebody kit, with normal rims lol. You will want +30ish to be flush with 20' rims. Maybe +35 with Stock ride. But I tell you now, 20" rims is NOT going to fix your wheel Gap. The diameter of the tire is about the same as you go through the rim sizes.

Look at the sig, 20 x 8.5 +30 is what I have. (On springs)

Its going to look ridiculous. Like a lifted truck with the leaf springs reversed.

OP find other wheels...

Yeah I'm going to. FIgured it was worth asking seeing as you don't find 4 20" chrome dipped wheels w/ new tires for $550 everyday lol.
