Hi,

I've got a 1990 Stanza and when I turn hard to the right the front driver's side wheel makes grinding, clunking sort of sounds. The boots are ripped in that area too. Can anyone suggest a thread somewhere with pics showing how to deal with whatever the problem is? My connection is too slow to watch videos, but so far I can still look at some photos. Also can anyone sugget a better forum to ask in? I didn't see a Stanza forum listed.

Thanks for any help!
David

Happens each time with the steering at full lock?

Sounds like a CV axle or joint.

Thank you! Do you know any places where how to change it is explained?

It is deceptively simple (and cheap!) to change out an axle on a FWD car by yourself, but you really should get an impact wrench of some kind for the bigger bolts. You're probably going to want to change your ball joint on the steering knuckle also since I bet the boot is ripped on that also, and that means you will need a ball joint press...
