Wheel = 18x8 +35 offsetCurrent tires = 245/40 18 Sumitomo HTR+

I’m about to lower the car with California Custom springs. I’m currently running the wheel tire combo above but I’d like to switch to a taller tire for ride comfort and better fitment. I might even install some wheel spacers if necessary. My question is, if I increase tire height to 245/45 or even 245/50, series, will they rub??? Keep in mind again that I’m lowering this 90Q.

I'm running 245/45/18's on an 18x9 +35. You'd have ~13mm more clearance on both the inner and outter sides of the wheels/tires. I'm on Eibachs, not Cal's and rthe only thing I come close to feeling/hearing as far as a rub is the plastic inner liner.

In short, no worries.

Thx Rex. I'd really love to go to 245/50's but that might be pushing it.

I think with 245/50's and the CalCustom springs you would almost for sure have tire rub ont he inner liner.

not to hijack this thread but REX. .. (trying to get your attention but no intention on shouting at you ).......i've been hunting you for days man.......

can i ask you a question about a specific wheel size if it will fit nicely on 1994 q45 with plans on running eibach. wheel size is 18 x 8.5 +45 offset all four.. bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3 and i want to run a 245/45 front and 275/40 rear or 255 or 245/....is it accurately no rubbing all sides? . will i be needing spcers on this size (18 x 8.5 +45) ? thanks in advance

my apology to you drew.....nice rims anyway,.....

i've been hunting for cali but ended up with eibachs......one question for you drew......will you be running adjustables?

if you guys dont mind pls email me at [email protected] with all valuable info...thank you so much......

Those fronts would require a spacer 5mm minimum, but if you choose to do so, get a bolt on 10mm spacer.

As for the rears, 275 is an awful lot of tire to squeeze on an 8.5 wheel, but the wheel should fit. I'd run a 255 or 265 (assuming you can find the right load rating) and maybe small spacer if you need to fill out the fender a touch.

Might be worthwhile to find better wheels. Look for something x8 +35 for the front and x9 +40 in the rear.

Hi hi,

I believe the G50 (1994) Q45 has a stock 16x7.0 +40 offset wheel. That being the case, these wheels fit as they are 1.5" wider and +5mm offset deeper. If you are concerned about the offset being too high, I would run a +5mm spacer, which can easily be accomodated by the factory lugs to bring the offset back to stock. According to my sources at both SSR and Work wheels, 18x8.5 +45 is pretty optimal (front) for the JDM G50 cars - they are not 100% certain if the USDM cars are different but they should not be. The rears most guys go a bit wider, but for the cost savings of these wheels, I would just run them all the way around

Cheers,

rex, can i ask you a question,

ill be running eibachs, will a 17 x 7.5 +41 for the front, and 17 x 8 +41 for the rear fit on 94 q without rubbing? I dont wanna use a spacer and dont wanna roll up the fender too. if it fits whick combo is better 225F/ 245R or 245F/255R for that size? Thanks a lot master.

You should be fine. A touch "sunken" in the front, but nothing to worry about.
