Because I need a response to this fairly quick (Stillen/Konig wheel deal)...

?X? 5X114.3

-I have the Eibach Pro Kit drop.-I'd like to fill my wheel well a tad more.-I don't want to lose any more ground clearance, if anything gain .25" - .5" (weather here is bad in winter)

I'm guessing (since I'm new to the aftermarket wheel deal) that these things above depend on the wheel and the tire combo and not just one or the other.

Which of the wheel sizes above would the community recommend, understanding my wants? I'm thinking definitely 18" or 19"... that second number is the width of the wheel correct? IE- 19x8 (8" wide?) Is 8 or 9 better for my needs?

Any tires you all recommend for year round (remember bad weather in winter and I don't want to change the tires).

Thanks in advance guys.

Thanks for the heads up. With the 235/35/19's am I looking at same, less, or more clearance from stock setup with 17's?

Adidas, you mentioned in another thread concerning wheel spacing, etc that you'd rather go 245/35/19. What would the benefits be of going with 245 over 235?

This is assuming the 3.5 sedan and 3.5 coupe have the same stock tire diameters (215/55/17):

You'll have a less rim/tire height (more gap) vs. stock with the 235/35/19. Diameter will be roughly 20mm shorter.

235/40/19's will give you roughly the same tire/rim height as stock, about 2mm taller.

235/45/19's will give you approx 25mm more height vs. stock. 245/35/19's -> 14mm lower than stock.

245/40/19's will give you approx 10mm more height vs. stock.

I'd (EDIT: You should) double check my math (this is the internet) just to be sure my calcs are correct. Also remember, the heights are for total rim & tire diameter measurements - not differences in sidewall height.

2nd Edit: It's all I have, but this may help if you're looking at going with a little larger sidewall. Pic below shows a 245/45/18 tire. It's basically the gap you'll get with the 245/40/19's - the 19" tire's diameter will be roughly 1mm larger than the one in pic.

So you take the overall diameter divided by 2 (or the radius) of the new tire and subtract it from the same from the OEM and you get the difference in height that your car will sit correct?

So if the stock radius of the 215/55/17s are 334.01 mm...New Tire Size / Radius in mm / mm difference in height off the ground235/35R19 / 323.34 mm / -10.67 mm difference235/40R19 / 335.28 mm / 1.27 mm difference245/35R19 / 326.89 mm / -7.12 mm difference245/40R19 / 339.09 mm / 5.08 difference

Thus, if I want more space between my car and the pavement I should go with the 245/40/19 or the 235/40/19?

Yep.

The 245/40/19 will give you a little more ground clearance.

LBC just created a really good sticky on some rim and tire sizes at the top - Mcheddadi also posted this awesome calculator in that thread: http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi

I think all that thread needs are some pics of a few different rim & tire combos - that would help steer a lot of people in the direction they're looking to go.
