Hello. I have a new 2007 M35 with the stock 18" 245/50/18 wheels on it ( I think they robbed form a newer 2012 tire which is 50 not 45)

Well I have a friend that owns a wheel shop in Tampa so I am getting insane pricing.
But I am up in air for size versus price, ride

I have Twilight blue so my personal preference is not to have black/silver rims too dark the all silvers pop better. And I do not want chrome blings. I want a performance look and clean. I was leaning towards a mesh or multispoke rim. Even though I love 5 spoke I feel they are too open not enough mass for the large cars. Look better on sports cars or 2 doors. And thinking staying non-stagger for cost/rotation and do not really want to lower car at all.

If I stay 18":
Pro
Much cheaper
reuse my tires
replacements are cheaper
no need to lower car/gap issue
Con (so I was told)
Look VS bigger rim
Lipped rims will not look good in smaller size

19"
seems like good compromise and little cheaper then 20
but 19" tires are way more expensive
they are not 20

20"
Pro
Of course look good all around
Con
I am concerned about ride quality with 35 series
I am concerned about huge gap in fender without lowering looking dumb
I am concerned about excessive road noise
Can I go with 40 or 45 series (too tall looking)

anyone have feedback or images of their cars NON lowered with aftermarket 18 or 20? any similiar experiences or just Hey get 20" and do not look back LOL

I chose 19's that dont have a defined lip on them bc a lip always makes them look a size smaller. I've never had a person ask if they were 19's, always thinking they are 20's. 19's are a good compromise between look and comfort.

Yes I think the difference between 19/20 is small and more a factor of the rim style making it look bigger or smaller. But with 19" you have a little more rubber and less of that thin look on the rim.

Have a picture of yours with 19"? is it lowered too?

Also I assume you put 19" on a base M35 non-sport. So did you see increase fender gap, or road noise or roughness with 19" over the stock 18"?

19" tires are harder to find and more expensive. I would not choose a 19" rim.

18" rims have the largest selection of tires and the cheapest tires. Every time it comes to buy tires (once a year) I wish I had 18's.

Yeah I also have brand new 18" tires on my ride. I can easily score some 18" rims for $600 and swap them and call it a day Then I can spend that $1000 I saved on stereo exhaust mods etc....

What about staggered 18" worth it?

Anyone have images of 18" or 20" mesh rims on non dropped M?

Tire cost wise 18"s and 20"s are about the same. The ride on 20"s isn't bad if you get a good brand of tire that don't have a lot of road noise . If you want a little more sidewall go with 255/35/20 and for mulit spoke wheels check out forgestar and the tsw nurburgring's. Those are usually a good price and have good quality craftsmanship.

Thanks I was looking at the MRR GT-1 or the TSW Snetterton or valencia I can get anyone of those installed for $275 in 20" out the door (plus tires at $127 for Toyo PX4)

I can get 19" for $250 each and I have not checked on 18" But I bet I can easily get those for $160 a piece since they are so cheap and common
