when i bought my 240 it had a bad front left wheel bearing, so i got it replaced just a little over a year ago. Well now it has gone bad again. Is there anything that would make the same wheel bearing go out repeatedly?

That's highly unusual assuming the spindle nut is torqued to spec.

ATTAIN hubs, brand new in box, bought from Alan when he was at SPL, and BOTH of the front bearings, upon applying spec torque, would creak and bind. Brand new bearings. I had to press out the new bearings and put in the bearings from my 4lug hubs. Luckily the 'old' bearings from 4lug hubs were nearly new anyway.

Moral to story is, stranger things have happened. At least you'll be a pro at pressing bearings when all is done.

deezlins, did u purchase an aftermarket bearing from autozone/advance auto parts/ etc.?

i know they usually have a limited lifetime warranty if the ever fail again... just dig up the receipt & bring them to the parts counter for a free replacement.

i got a new hub from a nissan wholesale online parts site, i cant remember which one though.

i was under the impression it was a sealed unit and you couldnt replace just the bearings and you just had to get a whole new hub? (S14 SE 5-lugs btw if that makes a difference)

No, the bearing presses into and out of the hub. Machine shops/auto shops etc have presses to do the job.

I thought you could only press the bearings in and out of an S13 hub, and the S14's were sealed units and you couldnt do that?

oops, my bad; hub/bearing assemblies come w/ lifetime warranty where i used to work...

bearings from autozone for example... only a 30-90 day standard warranty

i found my receipt and called the place and they said it had a 1 year warranty on it, and it expired 2 months ago. It started making noise and stuff longer than 2 months ago, and i thought it might have been the wheel bearing back then. So probably a little over 2 months ago i took it to the shop that replaced the new hub last time and i told them about what it was doing and the guy drove it and said it was flat spots in the tires. I did have flat spots in the tires, so i was like ok, i guess thats it. But then i figured out it was the wheel bearing. If i had known 2 months ago when they looked at it that it was the wheel bearing and not flat spots in the tire i could have called the place and gotten it replaced under warranty. Well i guess i'll go by Advance or Autozone and see how much the bearing is. Thanks for the help guys

I went by Advance and Autozone and neither has the bearings or hubs.I guess i might just have to order a new hub again online or somethin.
