Does the sound happen if it is out of gear? Do you have a auto or manual? When you walk, do you lean to the right a little? Can you be more general please?ray666 wrote:the sound gets worse as i accelerate. thx
Could be a wheel bearing, I know that feeling, I have a rear wheel bearing going out.ray666 wrote:the other thing i noticed was it feels like i have a flat, i get a "drifting" sensation from left to right every once in awhile when i'm driving straight.
IDIOT!!!ray666 wrote:you guys won't believe this i just took the wheel off and notice the tire was Really flat. i didn't see any punctures i decided to look on the inside of the tire and saw a crack in rim about an inch long, where the rim and tire meet. what a bummer!
No one ever listens to me...If he had just checked the car out like I told him too, there would have been no need....blacksrjdm wrote:Kinda sound like......wwwwwwaaaaaaaaaooooooooosssssshhhhhhhh krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr or maybe a weep weep sound. could be somewhat of a aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhh.
My bad bearing just kinda made a wrrrrrrrrring noise.
Another person that doesnt know how to check the bearings out. Jack up the car and with the car off, shake the wheels one by one by hand...and if you feel play in the bearing and are not sure if its the bearing or not...take it to someone that can tell what is bad.

And if your driving a car that is unsafe, and something happened then you would have no one but yourself to blame if something happened because you had a bad tire. No one else on here even gave you that good of advice.ray666 wrote:THANK YOU for the civilized reply, unlike some of the "ruffians" on here. no one looked at the fact of how dangerous it would have been, had the rim failed on me while driving on the interstate or at high speeds. morons.
And what makes you so special??Dattebayo wrote:See, and you could have actually looked at your wheel before posting all this theoretical crap. Amazing.
Leaving the car on the ground wont tell you for sure what is moving, the reason you put it in the air is so that you can hold certain ball joints to be sure that the bearing is the culprit. If your feeling movement on the ground it could be upper or lower ball joints, or inner and outer tie rods, or a bad bearing. If you jack it up then you can see and feel what is moving. I am an ASE certified tech in suspension and alignment also. But I suppose tool is a good word for someone with alot of useless skills and information.cracker wrote:For what it is worth, you don't need to jack the car up to check the wheel bearings. Either grab the top of tire, then push and pull on it, or put your foot on the top of tire and push in on it. If you can hear / feel it moving, then there is good chance it is bad. Most if not all mustangs have bad slop in the bearings, if ou get a chance to check the wheel bearings on a mustange, you will know exactly what I am talking about. They usally make a slapping sound when shaken in and out.
Bummer on the cracked wheel. At least you found it before it failed.
This whole thread is useless. A little bit of observation would have shown you the broken wheel. And you wouldnt have made stupid comments about wheel bearings or whatever. I gave good advice my first post...was just trying to be a little funny, if you read the bottom of my first post, I gave you a suggestion on how to figure what is bad...but yet, you didnt check it out before posting because if a tire is low on my car...then I know it. I check my wheels, tires, oil, ps fluid, etc... once a week at least. O well, get a new rim, drive the car, well see ya the next thread.ray666 wrote:as long as you can be informative you're useful but, its when you stray away from that. you become useless.
