Im a noob on alot of stuff and wheels and tires are one of the things im a noob at. So What is the widest tire i can put on my stock SE 16's and if the size of the sidewall makes any effect on anything.I also am looking to buy a nice moderately priced tire... Of course im concerned with dry grip, but im VERY concerned about wet grip, and also dont want tire noise, and want good cornering, any suggestions on a tire for me? (include size please)I have seen the pirelli pzero's and they are moderately priced and seem to rate very well in all aspects thank you

well on my car which is a 96 zenki, i run 17 x8.5 in the front and 17x9.5 in the rear with a 245/40/17 in the front and a 275/40/17 in the rear. my tires are falken gr beta all weather performance tires and they cost around 600 all together installed.

the one problem with my rims is that ill need to do some fender rolling to fit them in rear once i fix my camber

heres a pic of what the backspacing looks like for the front

The stock size was 205/55-16 and there are a ton of excellent dry/wet grip tires available in that size!Check TireRack for examples. The ST115 has been a very popular tire in any size. If price is right..

whoa thats -3? I must have like -10 then. Seriously though, you have like -1, maybe -1.5, not 3.

I like Hankooks in 15, my buddy gets great grip and treadware out of them, I'm not positive about 16s, but should be a good tire, not too expensive either. I forget the model though. For the price the St115 seems to be a tire of choice for drifters if you worry about that at all.

Ive been looking at tires lately and came across the Avons.

Avon M550 A/S comes in 215/55. The M500 (non A/S) comes in 215/50 and 215/55. I thought it was the M500 that was ranked highly by Tire Rack.

The PZeros are VERY expensive and in a different league, IMO. The FAlken St-115 comes in 215/55.
