Bungie has been uber secretive about the storyline of 3. Where did you find out that it won't pick up where 2 left off?Zee wrote:Minister- Where did you read this? In all honesty I thought they were picking almost where they left off.
Did you finish Halo 2? It ends with him arriving in orbit over earth.MinisterofDOOM wrote:It said the game picks up with his arrival on earth (which makes sense, as the achievements show that the first level is called "Landfall").
I'm sorry but if you are not a Halo fan, why are you complaining so much? You shouldn't even asks questions.MinisterofDOOM wrote:So...I got bored yesterday and started reading up on Halo 3 (haven't followed it very closely at all). I have to say...my hopes for an improvement are melting away fast. No, I'm not here to bash on Halo yet again. I'm just here to say to a few things.
Like, first of all, why doesn't Halo3 pick up where 2 left off?And why are they using graphic novels to fill in the empty space? And why aren't all the graphic novels already released in time to be read before you pick up Halo 3 so you can know what the smegging hell is going on?
I understand that novels (graphical or otherwise) can be a great way to tell what there's no room for in a game. But there's NO reason that the time between Halo 2 and 3 can't be in the game. It seems like moneygrubbing to me.
Even moneygrubbing is understandable. But the fact that you can't even read the in-between storyline until some time AFTER you get Halo 3 seems pretty stupid to me. Wouldn't it make sense to know what's going on?
Furthermore, coming back later on in Halo 3 means there's no justification for the crap cliffhanger that ended Halo 2. No justification, and no point. What happened to the adrenaline-filled "Sir, I'm finishing this fight."???????? I guess they just forgot about it? Or...? So instead of picking up on that pumped-up note, we just skip to some sort of x weeks later (or however long) and continue............?
Terrible.
You'd never see this kind of crap from Laidlaw.
You sure?I thought it ended right after he departed from the...alien...station...dealie.redtop91 wrote:

That might be the strangest question anyone ever asked me."You're not a fan so don't comment." If I hadn't been sitting I would have stumbled backward.bmike818 wrote:I'm sorry but if you are not a Halo fan, why are you complaining so much? You shouldn't even asks questions.

I didn't say I don't follow Halo. I said I was late to the game in checking up on Halo 3's development (as I expected a lot of what I was commenting on to be "old news" to some of the big Halo fans we have on the boards).bmike818 wrote:it's when somebdy doesnt know so much, complains when you are totally lost in the Halo world-because you said it youself you dont folow it and you are not a fan- of course you will not get any of the story lines...that's all
