Must be something different about the 99.5's and up. That is one of my biggest gripes about mine. I can't lock the doors with the doors open and the engine running.fueler wrote:i like how the key is seperate from the alarm remote, i have mine on a detachable keyring so i can leave the QX4 running with A/C on, lock the doors, and dont have to worry about a thing! And the R50 is nice and chilly when I come back to it.
With the doors open, if you pull the handle back (interior handle or exterior, doesnt matter) and then press the lock button while holding the handle, they will lock. Thats a japanese car thing - they make you use both hands - so you dont accidentally lock yourself out.bmlawless wrote:I can't lock the doors with the doors open and the engine running.
Ditto.I also like being able to roll them up (and down) again using my key. No need to get in the truck and turn the ignition, and then having to use the window buttons.Slick.I also like the radio controls in the steering wheel. Didn't think much of this feature when I bought it, but I wouldn't want to be without it now. Those things, plus the fact that this thing is bullet proof.Axelpkt wrote:Mine favs are being able to roll the front windows down with the key fob
Yep.I didn't know about it for the first year I had it though. I felt pretty stupid.Put the key in the drivers' door lock, and then turn and hold it clockwise to lower the windows, and counter-clockwise to raise the windows. This feature works on just about any newer car by the way.Works in my Altima, as well as a friends Lexus and another friends Acura.Try it.timmack wrote:huh?? you can do that?
Can't do that on mine, although I do like having the remote independent of the key. My sons' Caravan has the remote as part of the key, and I don't like it.fueler wrote:i like how the key is separate from the alarm remote, i have mine on a detachable key ring so i can leave the QX4 running with A/C on, lock the doors, and don't have to worry about a thing! yep i knew about the key option but i didnt know about doing it with the key fob, then again i dont have any oem fobs, just the ones that came with the remote start.Buzzman wrote:Yep.I didn't know about it for the first year I had it though. Didn't work, drat! Thank God I live in Idaho where I can leave my car running in the driveway and it stays there.fueler wrote:With the doors open, if you pull the handle back (interior handle or exterior, doesnt matter) and then press the lock button while holding the handle, they will lock.
