If your parents happen to be immigrants, then you are of *insert nationality here* descent. That's what I believe anyway.
American is a nationality not a race. Your race is determined by your ancestory. My race is not American, I am caucasian. I descend from Germans though.crzycav86 wrote:If you're born in america, you're american.

I disagree. I was born in Thailand but I am definitely NOT Thai.crzycav86 wrote:If you're born in america, you're american.

Funny thing is outside of the US American means you are from the continent...Like go to mexico...and if you are from argentina, you can say you are American, and no one will raise an eyebrow...crzycav86 wrote:If you're born in america, you're american.

Well, I guess that's right if you want to be all politically correct. But in that case, everyone's response should have been white, black or asian... not their country of descent(which is what the original poster's intent was, I think).vicki wrote:

Race = White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American
Anyway, I'm of Chinese blood but my parents were born and lived in Cambodia for most of their lives. I am known to have some Caucasian in me from time to time.
Glad you caught on. Haha.crzycav86 wrote:

Yep, lol. But since so many people kept listing their heritage, I just let it continue, no big deal. Guess I could have been a little more specific with my topic as I meant race as in White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American (as vicki stated).crzycav86 wrote:
