My mom's side is German and my father's side is Pennsylvania Dutch. I guess that makes me 1/2 German and 1/2... German. Many German names in the lineage.bud

If you're born in america, you're american.

If your parents happen to be immigrants, then you are of *insert nationality here* descent. That's what I believe anyway.

American is a nationality not a race. Your race is determined by your ancestory. My race is not American, I am caucasian. I descend from Germans though.

I disagree. I was born in Thailand but I am definitely NOT Thai.

Race = White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American

Anyway, I'm of Chinese blood but my parents were born and lived in Cambodia for most of their lives. I am known to have some Caucasian in me from time to time.

Funny thing is outside of the US American means you are from the continent...Like go to mexico...and if you are from argentina, you can say you are American, and no one will raise an eyebrow...

'naway's, I'm Mexican, born and bred....

I think my great, great grandma was French, so that could explain the white tint..

Well, I guess that's right if you want to be all politically correct. But in that case, everyone's response should have been white, black or asian... not their country of descent(which is what the original poster's intent was, I think).

But the point is, as far as nationality/place of birth is concerned, you are from whichever country you were born in. You could also consider your nationality wherever you grew up(this makes more sense). Or, you could consider your nationality equivalent to your heritage, which isn't always an accurate. Does that seem to clarify a few things?

Oh yeah....

Brandenburger German

Low Saxon German too (north Germany)

Also East Prussian German (currently occupied by Poland, after its successful genocide on millions of germans between 1945 and 1949, victims of the "humane genocide" of the potsdam agreement, I am hopeful that one day allied genocides wont be hyped up as "justice", or omitted altogether, in our american "teaching" of history.

Yep, lol. But since so many people kept listing their heritage, I just let it continue, no big deal. Guess I could have been a little more specific with my topic as I meant race as in White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American (as vicki stated).

I would technically be like 1/6 white (from slavery times...as my grandma's grandad was white) and 5/6 black (I dont exactly know about my dad's side of the family though.

For a second, it felt like I was the only black person here...but then again, I dont know if anyone else here considers themself "black" after seeing some people actually list their heritage/nationality.

In that case, even though I'm Mexican, I still am caucasian...just like evey other hispanic (w the exception of the red skin). From what I remember the races are:

Inui or EskimoMongoloidCaucascianAfrikanusRed Skin

yeah...that sounds about right...

Let's cover all the bases for interpreting the original question - here is me:

2. National origin: Pakistan.

3. Citizen of: USA and Pakistan.

for the record American is an attitude, not a nationality. (well, sorta;))

I'd give Vicki a lot of caucasian. unh! feel like she was hit by a train, a big soft man train!

wooo woooo! Kinda like the pain train, only you know, ok, I'd still stomp around and gloat afterwards...

I'm gonna go do push ups(wonder if I can still even do that, jesus I gotta quit being so damn lazy) or take a cold shower now or something...
