VW shooting themselves in the foot. Why get that car when you can get an A8?

Looks good, but you wouldn't catch me in a Volkswagen luxury car when Audis are available.

I saw the 8 & 12 cylinder models at the car show in baltimore today, sat on a bench by the display and had fun listening to all the shocked people as they looked at the sticker prices! one option that was listed was "high gloss paint",a $2000 option, that went over real well, not! The Infiniti display was complete, but all cars had their sticker prices removed from them, which was unusual, being that they are relative bargains in their class, and that every other line had prices visible at the show.overall, the only car that i really lusted after was the a8L,beautiful,beautiful interior, very understated with its hide away navagation screen, and not overly-tech looking.Infiniti could learn a thing or two about materials selection and design from the Audi line.

Everyone I know who has purchased a VW has had nothing but problems. My boss has replaced the air conditioning on his son's 2001 Jetta 4 times. I'll never buy a VW. What company had the #1 rating by j.d. power this year? :rolleyes

Did you see it weighs 5000+ pounds and has less horse and torque than a new Q.

Thumbs down, I'd buy the Audi or Q instead of this.

It is essentially an Audi A8, except it is made from steel.

I saw one recently and was fairly impressed. The interior is well appointed and had plenty of room. Not sure what direction VW is going with this.

Veedub is very misguided, Phaeton should have had an Audi badge. VeW's core market is sub $35K. They're going after a more upscale market segment already covered by one of their other divisions. They also made it look too much like a Passat. Nice car but dumb dumb dumb.
