The more you can eliminate the possibility or having a vacuum, or boost leak the better. As for removing all that stuff. It's not really the fact of improving performance. It's more for a cleaner look, and also diagnostic purposes.
Think about it the less mechanical parts, or any parts that can cause problems the easier it is to avoid a problem, or diagnose a problem. I say go ahead and do away with it.
But also think about the fact, that if at anytime you wanna sell your car, the crowd that has emissions but not be really interested in looking at it unless you put it all back on.
