Whats your best NA dyno and/or 1/4 mile time numbers?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

List your mods, I'd like to see quite a few bolt-on only KAs in here! I found in athe archives a link that is obviously now dead where they got a NA KA with I/H/E with approx 20hp/20tq gains. It was a tuner magazine I believe, but the link is dead for the article.

Heck post your mileage too!

Actually my 240 is bone stock right down to the paper filter. I should go baseline it here for everyone. Nothing was done to this car, even has its factory tape deck/cd player combo. The previous owner was not mechanically inclined and he had his car serviced at a Nissan dealership since he bought it when it was a year old.

Local shop charges 80 bucks and you get 3 passes ...not something the wife would like me spending money on..

my wife would be like wow a piece of paper to say your car is slow. lol anyways let me get my tune worked out and get the exhaust on. I don't think I can afford the dyno but I get out the craptech and get weighed, then do some runs.

Are those numbers from the Gtech or an actual track?

With that 60 foot, get it just under 2 or 2 flat and you'll be in the high 14s!

those are from the track btw i tested my g tech at the track and the times were close the g tech was .002 off. i know if i can get to a 2.2 or lower ill be in the 14's plus i have a full interior. im running all-season hancooks so thats a big factor why i was only getting 2.3 60'

Our track here is 3300+ ft above sea level, with the air density on most nights its more like 4200+. Really not good for running cars.

That said, some better tires and even an LSD you'd hitting some pretty respectable times for the amount of power you're putting down. Unless you car came with an LSD....

that is very true I hit a 15.014 1/4 mile with 1.91 sec 60 ft. I was praying for 14s , even a 14.999 I would have jumped for joy , but after 12 passes that was all I could manage.

All on a 170,000 mile motor I ran a 14.473 last year. Not bad but you can't expect much from a KA with no hairdryer.

Sorry dudes I didnt pay attention to the thread title. My run that I posted Was helped by a 45hp shot of Naaawwwsss. So it is not a genuine NA pass. The previous owner said he hit 15.1s but I never seen anything below 15.7 at 89 mph. Until; the bottle. I use Toyo proxes T1-S tires, I heat um up and launch at about 4000 rpms.

My nitro kept cutting out at a little over 2/3 track (to lean). I would have killed for that time man.

92 KA with a/c pulled, unorthodox pulleys, hs headers, greddy 3" exhaust, gutted cat, rebuilt engine, ebay air intake, removed AIV... Pretty fast, not sure about time though, no tracks around where I live. I can smoke a eclipse gt automatic though

1/4 mi is more like a short sprint. there should be a 1 or 2 mile track. i heard somewhere automatics dont have a top speed limiter. people would be literally flying.

they dont...i have an auto ecu and have already done the five speed swap. it takes forever, but im guessing i was topping out at 130ish downhill (vermont highways). after that the motor just lacked the power to push any faster against the drag....sorry to thread jack

Yeah sorry to thread jack. Its kinda on topic regarding maxing our cars out though. Never really went to the track or dyno. Just real world experience, aka illegal.

My camry was limited and i was topping out at 137ish on a straight vs a prelude. 240 feels real squirrelly at high speed though, I don't like it. Fastest I ever went with my 240 was like 110 and I crashed it cuz the tires were bald. After that I got fat rims and tires but I'm scared to push it again. Power is nothing without control.

I'd be curious to know what shaving the head will do for a KA. I just had mine done because during my swap I had a blown gasket and it was pitted so of it went. Having problems now with the car starting so I haven't driven it...but has anybody done it that can tell any gains?

I also had my ka24de head shaved but I don't think it's the reason for having starter problems, probably starter brush. As for power gains, we will never know until someone does some dyno testing. (maybe 1.5hp)

I don't know that 1MZ-fe got some serious yank. My sienna van hauls. It is no 1/4 mile killa but for a soccer mom minivan it squats hard. major torque. I even did the ricer move and put an intake pipe. The induction sounds wicked above 3000 almost like vtec.
