Im in the market for a new project car. Of course I was going to get another 240 but then I decided I wanna do something completely different. After looking at a few cars, I think I decided I wanna get a 65 For Thunderbird. I would like to bag it and get some rims that fit the shape of the car nicely. As for a motor, I was thinking about the Ford 5.0 I have sitting around from my previous S13. I would have to build a custom center for the shifter and hydraulic E-brake.

My choices are...

65 Thunderbird
S14
another S13 which would make it my 10th in the past 10 years.
70 Chevelle rolling chassis
71 split bunper camaro chassis
or Build my Dodge Dakota which is a piece of sh1t at the moment.

Just look at how awesome this looks...

Just my .02. I'd skip the S Chassis.

I love big cars and I like some models of the T-Bird, the 65 is not one of them. There are so many classic land yachts to pick from.

The 71 split bumper is my favorite Camaro.

Almost any year Chevelle would be cool as well.

I love the '65. Its from a time period when you could genuinely call a car beautiful. But screw the purists, go LS :gapteeth:

^I agree 100%. The split bumper is my favorite Camaro too, and would be my top choice to restore assuming all your choices were in similar condition. But I assume that they are not in similar condition, so it's difficult to say which might be the wisest one to fix.

Split bumper gets my vote but bring your checkbook. While parts are plentiful, they aren't cheap. We have a friend who restored one and he has the equivalent of a war pension in his.

'70 was both the last good year and the beginning of the end for the Chevelle. Bodywork got fat and plasticky, but the engines were still high-comp, high-output variants.

Third-gen T-birds are gorgeous and you can't go wrong with them.

Split-bumper Camaros are brilliant, too.

I can't imagine going with an S13 or S14 over any of these three.

+2. Taking advantage of the "drift" tax and selling the S13/S14 at a premium while you still can might be a good path, then perhaps put the proceeds toward one of the more collectible subjects

I love the drift scene. Makes my S14 go up in value daily.

Looks more like it's longing for an oval track to race around to me. I can almost feel the front wheels' eagerness to turn left through the photo.

Personally I would go S14, then 70 Chevelle for third
