Its been working fine since I got my coupe last feb, now it just says dvd-rom version not correct. And if the map DOES show up on the screen, it doesn't show turn by turn directions and the voice doesn't speak. It just shows the blue line outlining the route and nothing else.

Sounds like the nav control unit is starting to go. Follow the instructions in the FSM for doing a self-diagnostics.

You've tried removing and re-inserting the disc?

I tried removing and re-inserting the disc. I'm hoping its nothing serious like a control unit. Are these the only possible things it could be ?

You running the factory disc? Does it have a lot of scratches?

If not, it sounds like the DVD ROM is going bad. Although it could be the screen going out. I don't know which is worse...

It can't be the screen. It's just a display unit that displays whatever the control unit tells it to. If it were the screen, you'd have problems with the display. It sounds like a problem reading the disc. So, try another disc and/or do what I said above, and do a self-diagnostics.

no the disc doesnt have any scratches. i got it from someone off of NICO (last march, dont remember his name) and its been working perfect up until last week. It isnt the screen because everything shows up perfectly. Only when i try to put in routes is when it acts stupid.

So it doesn't have a problem unless you try and make it route?

Hmm, that sux. I never use the routing option, but mine never has a problem with doing it.

no... everything had a green box in it. The line connecting to the IMU was grey while the other ones were green tho. if that makes any kind of difference

What map version are you running?

If you are planning on keeping the car you may want to think about getting a newer disc. It's almost cheaper than an hours labor at the dealer. But if you have a dealer you regularly visit they might take a look at it for you.

Do you have a legit disc? If not it may have been a fluke that it worked for a while.

If you know someone with a <08 Infiniti (nonHDD) G w/ Nav you might want to barrow their nav disc and try that.

I meant to check on that before leaving work today.... sry.

There is a bulletin on the books about specific series models and I do not know what series the G should be using. But you can get a new disc from http://www.navigation.com/is-b...irect
