ok. . that's 2 in the last couple of minutes. ..

i'm no moderator . . . but even i get frustrated reading the same topics posted dozens of times . . . obviously no one is doing searches before they post . . .

hey. . .you got your thread locked. . . suck it up kid. . . as mentioned, the question has been asked before. .

and yes. . . in a forum. . . moderators are a helluva lot closer to being god than you ever will. . .

i DID read your thread. . . and if you understand the dynamics of putting on oversize wheels. . . they WILL change the gearing ratio and WILL slow your car down. . . not to mention the added weight of the wheels. . . not to mention the lack of sidewall to deflect road inconsistancies making your car handle worse. . .

It was an entirely stupid thread, almost like this one. A)There is no way in hell you're gonna get 19 inch wheels on a 240sx, b)there is no reason to, and c) just drop the subject. Its retarded to argue about what the moderators have to say, they're here for a purpose. You wouldn't want some guy coming in being like 240SX IS TEH SUX0R STUPID FOOKNI PEEZ OF SHIOT would you? They're here to prevent that and obviously they sensed a trace of that in that thread...Now back the heck up.

they will slow down accerleration but actually give you better top end!! physics thanksas far as weight, 17" to 19" really doesnt add that much weightthe material that the wheel is made of determines weight!lack of sidewall?? i have 245/35/19 on the rear and the sidewall is actually about the same size as my old 245/40/17remember, the tire sizes are all porpotional!as far as handling?, you make no sense.did you ever watch the TOCA road race series in englandand europe??majority of those cars use 19" rims.i guess they opt for crappy handling in a race??stop jumping the gun people, and speak on experiencenot on what you heard from people who assume things!!!

I doubt any of you have taken the time to talk to and get to know the mods like some of the veterans here, but I'll say this, they're all damn good people...And usually know what they're talking about, if not they can take some constructive criticism. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO IT.

now mods, complimentary lock please.

It was locked based on the fact that it would have turned into an argument sooner or later because of the immature nature of people who ask questions like that.

and how often do we all go barrelling down the freeway at 140 mph?

Quote »as far as weight, 17" to 19" really doesnt add that much weightthe material that the wheel is made of determines weight![/quote]every 1 pound of unsprung mass is like adding 10 lbs to your car. . so the extra weight of 4 19" wheels as compared to 17"s would be like having an extra passenger in your car (albeit a small passenger)

if you have the money to have the same suspension set up as the professionals. . . go for it. . that'd be pretty sweet but utterly useless on real roads. . . they don't deal with potholes and whatnot on a regular basis. . . tracks usually tend to be pretty smooth

you know what? all he asked was for some advice. thats it. he didnt ask whether or not people think they look bad or ghetto or anything besides can they work on his car. if you dont like big rims, then dont say anything. it would be more useful to everyone on this site to either say something useful or just keep your mouth shut. this is the reason this site makes me sick sometimes.

I've riden in a car with 19 inch rims before, a Z. Wasn't too nice of a feeling thank you. From personal experience 17 is the best all around size, right now I'm still on 15's until I get a decent set of 17s. I don't have to have something to have formed a personal opinion on it, they serve no purpose but the 'bling' factor. OMG LOOK A MI WHEELZ Y0 THEY ARE SO TYTE!!

I will close this thread and this is the reason:(not that I owe an explanation):

It is poor netiquette to open a thread on a message board ( <any> message board) to complain about a moderators action. If you disagree and think he was wrong or made the wrong call email him. Nearly all mods/admins have their email option enabled.

We are actually pretty lenient here compared to teh oetrh large Nissan sites. On maxima.org for example, starting a thread like this has gotten members banned w/o warning.

We are not like that and we shouldnt be and our mods try to be respectful of members and their rides. But sometimes it get's late...

In any case don't restart locked threads please friend again I suggest using our meial option via our NICO profiles.

Fred...:)

Fred was nice to you.

I won't be.

If I had seen this thread before he, you'd have been GONE. Let me educate you to something here, Tantrum Boy. First off, your initial post is out of control, then you back up (something most loudmouths are real good at) at say "this wasn't to bash mods". Then what the hell was it?

Second of all, if we want to delete/lock/moderate something, we will. The founder of this site (and the man who graciously pays the bills for this little playgound for you guys) has made it VERY clear what will and will not be allowed on the site.

Finally, you're dealing with people with tons of track time. If 19's were the ticket for quicker times, then the Roush-prepped 'stangs I drive at Bondurant would be wearing them.

When we see some time slips on your 226hp 240, we'll tell you if it "hauls azz" or not. :rolleyes I ain't buying it.

No more posts like that.

BTW, your car *looks* sharp, and the rims DO *look* good - You could've started a real popular thread with some pics and discussion about it and the mods you've done to it.
