Quote »as far as weight, 17" to 19" really doesnt add that much weightthe material that the wheel is made of determines weight!
every 1 pound of unsprung mass is like adding 10 lbs to your car. . so the extra weight of 4 19" wheels as compared to 17"s would be like having an extra passenger in your car (albeit a small passenger)
Quote »lack of sidewall?? i have 245/35/19 on the rear and the sidewall is actually about the same size as my old 245/40/17remember, the tire sizes are all porpotional!
sidewall is proportional to the width of the tire. . . 245/35 would be smaller than 245/40
Quote »as far as handling?, you make no sense.did you ever watch the TOCA road race series in englandand europe??majority of those cars use 19" rims.i guess they opt for crappy handling in a race??
if you have the money to have the same suspension set up as the professionals. . . go for it. . that'd be pretty sweet but utterly useless on real roads. . . they don't deal with potholes and whatnot on a regular basis. . . tracks usually tend to be pretty smooth
