I don't know about the rest of you, but i was happy with Nico the way it was and really didnt see any room for change. Not only are there no other forum skins available than default, navigation to me is more difficult. In addition to that, I can see a whole bunch of new forums popping up.... (in my opinion too many already). Maybe it'll just take time to adjust but im just a little annoyed that the good old nico is a thing of the past!!! P.S. How do I get my signature image to work again??

VBulletin was very unsecure from what I understand. The "Photopost" section is down for now, dunno when they'll put it back up but I'm hoping soon. And I don't think maybe 3 extra forums listed in the NICO Menu makes it that much harder to find what I'm looking for, and the fact that it's much higher up on the screen is a nice little tidbit. Only complaint I had is that the menu changed sides, but I've gotten used to it now...

We had outgrown the capacities of VBulletins.

This new software is SO much more powerful, but we haven't even scratched the surface of its capacity. Bear with us, there's new skins coming.

What new forums?

Sig images are on the way, I had to buy new Photopost software.

This stuff ain't cheap guys!

greg and the crew are still in the process of getting NICO up and running. More skins will hopefully be available.

My only major issue with the new setup is this damned quick reply box. I hate it. It should be in the script and not a popup

I liked the old system much more than this one. This system does have some pluses and conveniences, but I still strongly prefer the old system over this one. I do like the enhanced capability of the search function. Due to all the problems, I am going to NICO less and less.

I just typed in a lengthy reply while I was not logged in yet and, as soon as I hit the "Post" button, it posted a message saying that I needed to be logged in to post messages, but discarded everything I had written without giving me a chance to log in while saving what I had typed in before. It should've not let me type anything until I logged in or should've retained what I had typed in and let me log in. In its current state I think this aspect of the user interface is poor, IMHO.

Pictures in many threads are completely missing.

Many threads show the same identical dates for posts which span many months.

All bookmarks from the previous system are no longer usable.

These problems should've been fixed in TEST waaaay before the switch to the new system.

Oh, and I don't get any email notifications when someone has replied to a thread that I have replied.

It would be helpful if the owner of NICO would set up a single thread with information and updates regarding the switch to the new system and email the name and location of this thread to everyone so we know where to go to for this information. Alternatively, there is not a single sticky thread at the top of the General Chat or Technical forums that contains this information. Maybe it's somewhere else, but if anywhere, it should be available under the General Chat section. I did not get a single email before or after the switch regarding when the switch was going to happen and what to expect. While I am sure that much work was involved with the switch, from a user's perspective, the switch seems to have implemented with poor planning and/or poor communication with users to say the least.

You get what you pay for.

Keep in mind that this is ALL volunteer work.

We moved in a hurry because we were vulnerable to hacking, and our prior hosting co could not promise us the level of security we needed.

We're taking all of these concerns into consideration, but please also keep in mind that NO ONE can move a forum of this size without significant downtime on short (48 hour) notice. We were down for 4-6 hours, and lost NO data.

I'm more than happy to have the help if anyone has some expertise in these areas. I'd hate to see anyone leave over something so minor, but that's your choice.

George, call me ASAP at 602-828-8908!

I also don't like the fact that when u quick reply to a post u don't atomatically get subscribed and if u do subscribe u won't get an e-mail. Also Search has goten more complicated and yes there are no skins available i loved the way the old nico was

Only beef i have with this new system is the quick reply box. Other then that its just fine i got use to most of it by now .Its no reson to leave nico is a great place and i like it vary much. Also knowing this has been a volunteer thing and is one of ther biggest nissan forms is pretty cool. I just wish i could help Nico more.I send money every time i get a chance but still want to help more.

What happened to the Profile functionality that allowed one to view general information about another member, check out their personal web page, and email them messages directly? Is this functionality gone with the new system? Or is it hidden somewhere that I cannot readily see?

Will email notifications be available again? It is not working now.

AZHitman, could you please respond to the individual issues raised in my and other peoples' postings? Let us know the status and if/when they will be resolved. It appears as if there is a complete blackout of updates and information regarding the new system. Would you consider starting a separate thread (as mentioned above) providing updates of alll of this information?

Thanks.

*sigh* There is no "complete blackout on updates", I've tried as best I can to respond to all the impatience here.... I'd really prefer to just focus on getting everything fixed instead of talking about it.

I think you could save yourself a lot of time and a lot of members a lot of frustration if you set up a single thread with all the updates.

I checked out the Profile function. I think it really looks good. However, it still doesn't allow someone to email a user if their email address is hidden. It would be nreally nice to have that functionality available.

Thanks for all your hard work! Please don't take my comments as criticism but feedback that will allow improving the web site.
