I am very curious what it is with all of the threads wanting to change this and that. I understand Modifying the looks of the car through tinting, wheels, body kits, etc., but doesnt alot of these things people are thinking of doing effect the new car warranty? Whats so bad about enjoying the car the way Infiniti made it for now?

Tell me if Im wrong but didnt everyone that is driving around in 2008 G37 take delivery all within at least the last month or so? What is the rush to start ripping out stuff like the hard drive adding turbo kits etc. My insurance company didnt have the car on record and from what I hear now I wouldnt find an aftermarket oil filter. (according to a wheel and tire guy...go figure) Modifying things that arent proven or made for the car would be difficult, for now, unless you are a Certified Infiniti tech that knows what they are doing.

I looked into different tires and wheels and unfortunately the wheel dealer did not have specs on the car yet. It got me thinking about my warranty too according to the Wheel and Infiniti dealer any mods that I do to the car can effect and possibly void my warranty. (I purchased the extended one BTW)

Even the wrong wheels can void it if not careful with my choices. Arent all if not most of these things people are asking about be an issue with the warranties that came with the new car purchase. I am lucky and glad that the next number of services are gratis from my dealer.

I could understand if the car was a number of years old and have miles and years outside of the normal warranty, but I am enjoying the way the car is as it was purchased for now, IMO.

If anyone has more info on what can be done without warranty issues let me know... heck even tinting can effect the radio reception! Good luck with all the mods.....

You'll find that with every car, some folks will want to make changes - any changes to make their car unique. From tint, to wheels, to painting the brake calipers, etc. Others will want to push the performance, with new springs, a turbo kit, etc.

While I don't think cosmetic changes will void a warranty, performance mods will at the least give the car manufacturer - and their representatives - reasonable doubt that your mod at least contributed to failure of the suspect part.

That being said, variety is the spice of life. I've considered a different set of wheels/tires for 'summer fun', and might in the future look for people selling their OEM wheels from their Sport models.

I totally understand the need and want to modify a vehicle especially cosmetic changes. I contimplated alot of things for my X5 and Integra GSR , which was one of the most popular cars to do anything to.

I would like to tweak my G one day too, but am wondering what can be done and how it may change or damage the mechanics of one of the most technologically advanced cars on the road.

Cosmetic things like wheels suspension kits etc. are very cool but would like to make sure it is made for this car...lets face it if its hard to find an oil filter right now I wouldnt trust some aftermarket part going in if it isnt done by a professional or made for the G37 specs.

I was at the wheel place looking for wheels but was told to come back in a couple of weeks when they should have specs. The tech just looking at the stock wheels, calipers and discs said he wouldnt take a chance on a guess right now for the type of wheel I was looking for.

This forum is great for everyones mods. Keep the Ideas and Pics coming. Include how it is effecting the car and where you found them. No reason not to make the G37 spicier than it is now....just as long as Infiniti warranty guys dont frown upon it to much!

Carman, their might be a set of 19"ers on Craigs List in a few months, forget that I mentioned a 2 inch curb rash!

My wife wanted wheat interior and rosewood trim, but neiher are available with the sport package. But, she also loves the agressive look of the sport front end. So she bought a G37 with wheat and rosewood, and now she's planning to remove the original fascia and replace it with the sport package fascia.

I agree. Infiniti has a very large room full of engineers and the best in computer aided design software. If a different size tire, wheel or air intake would have made the car better, dont you think they would have done it. I like my car the way it is. (Wish the trunk was a bit bigger)

Thanks for the input....Tire Rack does have a wide selection, but didnt have the style I liked. I am looking at the BBS wheels and they seem to have some for the 35 but none for the 37.

As far as the front facia is concerned I do like the sport model front like mine has. If you are to change it you may want to wait a while until aftermarket or Nissan comes up with other designs....One thing that people who want to change them and have the Tech Pac you got to watch out for the laser sensor on the front.

If you ever looked at the styles for the 35 there are thousands ( well maybe not that much ....alot) of different ones....saw one to make the front end look like a Bentley....go figure. If you want your car to look like a Bentley you should go buy one. LOL Im sure thats what everyone that would see it would say....but oh well to each is own!
