Ill get some up tomorrow after school and such. My plans initially, Safety first...Im going through everything i can think of to make it safe and reliable such as brakes, suspension, steering, engine rebuild(if necessary) but after all that stuff ill probably just get some paint (either a touch up or a gunmetal grey like the gtrs), rims, and an exhaust system (if the moneys there) i have a 5grand budget give or take to start with. But down the line when i get to know it i might throw an sr20 and a racing clutch in it. But those plans may or may not change over time.

Thanks man admitedly I went thriugh the 17 year old ricer stage where all I wanted to do was throw a kit on it and a loud exhaust. But now I see the dangers in spending all my money on that instead of mmaking it safe, so I gre up a little bit (I'm still 17)

Smart move taking care of the maintenance and wear items first, but you've got to throw your inner rice boy a bone every now and then, that's why I have a buddy club spec II exhaust, its been keeping my ricer fantasies satisfied for over 4 years now. :gapteeth:

speaking of exhausts, what are some that you guys have put on your 240s. I prefer a low growl like an italian sports car :)

The rsr exmag makes a very pleasing sound, but they are rather difficult to get your hands on and they aren't cheap. A reasonable good sounding alternative would be a brm exhaust, it is very easy to get and is reasonably priced.

Hey man, actually just got done posting in your other thread, wish I had seen this one first lol. I probably sounded more like your dad than.. your dad lol. Btw try to be a little more understanding about his "unsupportive a**" cause most likely he just doesn't want you to get caught up in a big dead end moneypit. And you don't have to look through very many build threads on this board (my own included) to see how many 240's end up just that way, so his concern is justified. Anyway for 5K you can probably do everything you listed there, basic maintenance, decent suspension, wheels/tires, maybe a splash of paint. Just don't overdo it, cause you WILL spend more than you thought you would, I promise you that. Also take into account how much time its going to take to get all that done and where you're going to do it, like I said in the other thread. Otherwise, good luck.

I realize that he doesnt want me to get caught up in a money pit but its the fact that he basically called me an idiot for wanting to do something like this. and thank you for your input on the other post :)

Go with BRM exhaust, lots of posts here on NICO about the different systems they offer. Sounds great, everything lines up good, they use Magna Flow parts. Greg is good to work with. He can be contacted on NICO.
