Whats this KA out of?

Supposedly, the shop I got this motor from says they got this from japan. Im 90% sure they are full of it, but know there are a couple models that used it over there so meh. But My 91 KA currently doesnt have the arm on the oil filter like this, and it seems some different mounts were on it, oil pan is pretty funky too. Any thoughts on what the hell this came out of?

It probably just a KA out of a 240 with a painted valve cover.

Yeah. Painted valve cover. Its just a regular old KA

Ive seen KA's with the same color valve cover. I dont believe its painted. Im not looking for jdm tightness, Im just looking for more info on the possible internals (compression ratio namely) without pulling it apart. The pieces of motor mount on there now, arent that of a 240. I was leaning toward possible truck or, they arent blowing smoke up my arse and its really from overseas, just in something else..# 1998-2001 Nissan Presage U30 (Japan)# 1993-1997 Nissan Bluebird

KA24DE was used in these.

I did some searching but cant find a pic of a stock s14 oil pan. But I know thats not an S13 pan.

It's obviously longitudinally mounted so it can't be from the Presage or Bluebird, both are transverse. That's about all the info I have to offer.

Thanks, I hadn't looked into them much to know they were transverse. Still leaning towards truck cause of the mounts. Oh well. Going in either way.

It just looks like a bump out for more oil capacity. Could be aftermarket, but my money is on that its nothing special.

That is like the exact motor that came outta my 91 so i dont think it came form Japan anytime recently so dont get to excited cause my valve cover is the exact same and prolly the same way with the rest of the motor, but just a little more cleaner.

Yeah, my stock 91 had a black vc, so I dunno wtf. Either way, in it goes tonite. YAY no more front main leak oily crap all over the place. The 165k mile motor coming out is gonna get some crazy love. Im sure Ill make threads as it comes along. This one will get me by on the commute though until its done.

Stock usdm Ka24de. Exact same thing that's in my 92, oil pan, valve cover, all of it. Mirror image of mine.
