When I rebuilt my V6 I put the rods in backwards, and then they broke at 400 miles. Wiped out the block and crank. Second one went 50K after much abuse.

Hmm... my mom closed the garage door when my car wasn't all the way in, ****ed up the trunk a bit, and I don't want to pay $300 to fix it, so I claim it's ***-dragging scars, cause I'm DORIFTO MAX like that... (cough)

Oh, and my own mistake was sliding around a dirt field with lots of sticks... one flew up and scratched my fender a little bit, dented it slightly too, can hardly tell though... (want vids? )

That was fun... I should remove those sticks and do it again...

Hopped in the Ford Windstar to go grab groceries (because thats what you do with a Ford Windstar). Put it in reverse and slammed the gas.

The garage door was still closed. I got out and looked... the garage door stuck out quite a bit. I tried to bend it back myself, but it didnt cover up the giant crack.

My parents were not pleased.

Then there was the time I put the wrong soap in the dishwasher and flooded the kitchen, ruining the new hardwood floors. And the time I spray painted the porch blue. They werent too happy about that either.

On a parallel to Jesda's story, submitted for your perusal. My first car, '81 280ZX, had no clutch safety on startup. One particularly hazy morning I got up to go to school and was late. In my haste I jumped in, turned the ignition while it was in gear. Car leapt forward about 10 feet. POW. Garage door buckled in.

No damage to the rubber ducky bumper, tho.

Later on said Datsun met its demise when I neglected to notice the diff had no fluid for about 3000 miles, POW, it locked up at highway speeds. End of poor 280ZX.

i had been driving for about 8 months before i drove an auto, learned on stick and i like it so much more (obviously)

anyway the first and last time ive driven auto, took my moms minivan one time when my car was having inspection done. when i got back, i wasnt thinking, so i went to pull the handbrake and proceeded to rip out the center console

smashing my rear quarter panel into a hay bail at the track. that was the end of my nice (relatively) dent free car. now i have to smash it out with a hammer so hopefully my new bumper fits correct. it's gonna look like crap. i know it.

I was pissed from talking with a guy whose bestfriend used to date the girl I was currently with. After all was said an done, I tore out of the parking lot around a few turns, sliding through them (as usual). On the second one, I lost control, and hit a 10" tall curb. I mean I slid into the thing sideways. Absolutely ZERO body damage but I broke the TC rod and brace, tie rods, spindle, and broke the lower control arm into two. Not to mention the bent strut (koni) and new tire I had to buy (the tires I had were less than a month old as it is) and the wheel still scraped all to hell. She blamed herself for the whole thing, and loved my car to death. Bad times... So I get my car back about 3 or 4 weeks later, got a great deal on parts/labor for under $700 for everthing. Horrrayy, car back. Then she left me to go back to him. Bad times again...

Needless to say, sliding around turns is no longer an "as usual" statement.

In my oldsmobile:driving to my friends uncles to work on his car i picked them up then went to the hardware store, realised we needed to go back home to pick something else... crusin back listenin to a new song not paying attention (in the rain) then my friend shouts out TURN HERE, at his street and outta panick i slam the wheel and cut it... understeer right into a 8" curb, scratched my bumper, bent the steelie and blew a tire... felt like an idiot, shoulda just drove past the street

or when i did $1200 of damage to the olds, rear ending a malibu on the highway when the left lane came to a stop for no reason

I've used the wrong dishwashing soap too! It was late at night and I was tired so I left it until morning. When I woke up, it was all dry and the tile floor was sparkling. Score!

Locked my brakes stopped in time but she then hit me and I just washed my car foot was wet and slipped off clutch. Scratched her bumper and tore the bra on mine and dented my driver's fender pretty bad. I got charged with the accident. Had no witness besides people in my car so I was screwed. Wow... Ive got a couple.

I had a girlfriend that I was showing how to drive im my little 1987 Pontiac Grand Am. It was in her complex and I told her:

"Babe, pull into this house and then turn around."

Well the (unt his the gas instead of the brake and crashes into the house!!! Not hard or anything, but there was a spigot on the wall and that thing bent the crap out of my hood and grill. HAve never let a woman drive my car since.

Also, I used to have a red 240sx that I was selling to this guy. It drove fine and it was pristine. On the day that I have to deliver the car... It doesnt want to start! Never done this before, but now its just messing with me. I get so pissed, that I kick the quarter panel and make a footlong dent in the car.

Started soon after that.

The guy still bought the car.... didnt even care about the dent.

Uh...I kicked my Ford because the way the seatbelts are, they nearly always fall in the door and keep it from closing tight. The door closed tight, and now there's a dent around the keyhole.

That's about the worst of it.

Well it was a combo of coming into a corner too fast and over steering too much. I got straightened out before the trees jumped in from of me.

If your car has Hood pins and relies on them solely to hold hood down, Never forget to put them in! 65 mph in a 98 Eclipse yeah when the hood comes up it will scare the bejesus out of ya and hopefully not crack a windshield!

I had a soft tire in the back of my eclipse and was going around a corner in the rain, got sideways and smacked a small tree but then it bounced back and I kept going. My gf at the time was not too happy with me. She kept hitting me for about a good hour or so. Didn't do any damage except for a nice dent in the rear quarter panel.

I have bikes hanging in my garage, and I was putting a new transmission and clutch in my 300ZX. Any ways the car was up on jack stands and the hood was up....proceded to jack the car up , and the hood hooked onto a bike and lifted it off its hook. The bike came crashing down onto my windsheild, and hood, and bounced off. CRAP!... skratched the hood all up, ( didnt brake glass .. But it dented the side of my hood, and all that.

Another time, i was backing up to fast out of 7-11 parking lot.. in the rain... didnt see a yellow, cement poll... caved in the side of my Z, catching the rim also... in the end we pulled out the dent mostly, but the cars body is now crap, and needs A good old bondo job.
