Whats the most cost effective (cheapest) way to lower the 1994 Q45 suspension? ( exspecially the rear, to be level with the front) Cut the stock springs? if so how much? I would like to Lower rear 3/4 to 1" and front 1/2" with out stiffening the ride to much.thanks Brett

Just buy a set made for the Q. I have lowered in the rear & Standard H/D in the front & it rides beautiful. I have King Springs, but I supose this brand isn't available in the U.S.

Eibachs are discontinued, but some retailers have back stock.

Search "completed auctions" on ebay for a seller. I believe someone here recently got a set for $150 (smoking deal).

The rear springs are relatively weak at 123/in so 246 trunk/back seat pounds per inch...........a full tank weighs 140 pounds so 140/246=0.56" of lowering. Are you measuring with a full tank and your weight in the drivers seat [200 pound driver will lower the drivers rear side by roughly 0.7"].

I cut my springs about a year ago - removing a full coil. The car looked excellent. It rode very stiff and would bottom the suspension often. Now I have a different set of stock springs back in. I will save the lower and cornering for my Rx-7.

Yah, I cut all four corners - the front was the issue with bottoming out.

Made the same mistake as well. Always tell everyone never to cut their springs, so what did I do??? 1 coil make a huge difference, so I put in standards in the front, lowered in the rear & the ride was perfect.

It drops the rear more than it does the front... If you lowered it much more with stock wheels, you wouldnt have clearance for the suspension.....

Sorry guys, but I ain't getting any Email notifications. The car sits great. I have the Tokico Blues on the all round, but that shouldn't make a difference, & I have King Springs, made in Australia. The front is slightly higher, but you have to study it to notice. The ride quality is soooo much better with the standards in, I really don't worry about what the height difference is. In fact, with the lowered ones in the rear, it seems to bring the front down a fraction ( could be an optical illusion) but really, the car sits quite nice.

If you really wanted a picture, I can email it.
