i was wandering through acouple performance pages and notices acouple really large turbos the T88 T71 and i think it was the T66 or 68 can't remember but anyway would it be possible to mount any of these into a ka24de i know how close the steering linkage is to the manifold and i'm not sure if a turbo that size would fit and another downfall would be one hell of a turbo lag how could i fix that was thinking of a sequential setup with like a t28 or t3 chained to the t88 or t71 anyway would like to here some info

I had a hard time finding room for my HKS GT3037. So, I would have to say that a T88 would be a VERY tight fit and pointless unless you are building an all out drag car that will be spooled using nitrous.

The T66 has been used before and would be the best choice of the three.

Hello Guys,I have simple question for you.

I was wondering if you know that what kind of power level is the KA motor proven for, when fully built with pistons, C-rods, cams etc?

I am really interested bulding a KA motor for all drag, top end and top speed and still drive it daily. But dont know if the KA is the right choice. My SR puts out well over 500WHP and has never really given up on me.

Any help would be Great, write back

Built right there is no reason it wouldn't be just as strong as an SR, in fact I think it'd be stronger because I dont like aluminum. I know of one KA at 470hp as a daily driver, and another that hit 504whp on a shakedown run...there are numerous other high number KA's too. So yeah...they are pretty sturdy :)

I should find out in the next month or so....thing spooled on 3 cylinders (old engine) before 4 grand so it should be pretty crazy on a good motor. It's pretty too...:D

It's ball-bearing....which would account for the quick spool, even on only 3 good cylinders. The low A/R and small turbine inlet doesn't hurt either.

Compressor: Wheel - 56 trim (57.0 Inducer/76.2 Major)Housing- 70 Inlet / 50 OutletA/R - .60

Turbine:Wheel- 84 Trim - 60.0 Major / 55.0 ExducerGT25 Inlet/GT30 OutletA/R - .61

Yup, i guess that would make for some quick spool. Talk about throttle response!:D I was going to go with a T3/T04E 50 trim .63 A/R, but if the GT can get spinning on 3 slugs before 4k i might have to rethink my decision and drop the extra dough. Thanks man.;)

How much power do you expect, cnichols? About where will the GT3037 max out hp-wise? How much boost do you plan to run daily?

I won't be maxing out the GT3037 anytime soon. I think it's good to somewhere between 400-450.

It won't be my daily so I'll probably see how long the stock block will hold 12-14 psi. I've only got a 2 bar MAP sensor, so once I get it tuned and my spare built, I'll switch to a 3 bar and see what the limits of my stock KA are with the right tuning. And, once I find it, I'll be swapping the built motor in.

Sweetness, I'm looking forward to tuning a KA, it'll be good to be able to have a spare block for less then 2.5k...

This'll be the first car I tune, ever, and I don't really wanna start with something too terribly exotic (rb, sr, ca). Any pointers?

My first time too...I figured I needed to learn sometime. Might as well do it now. If you're going standalone...don't go Holley. I think the Haltech and SDS have good reps.
