out your engine in the 92 forget about the 89, it would be direct fit in the 92. i think there is a small difference in the transmission mounts beween the s13 and the s14.so it should not cost you that much . minimal under 500 i say ??

Only issue is wiring. He going to leave you with ecu and engine harness? If so you would just need an upper intake I think. I thought 89 would be the same fit just he wouldn't have power steering unless he gets 91+power steering lines. Am I correct?

yeah, i got a 96 engine in my s13, but the only problem is it happened before i bought it, and for some reason the swapped totally nixed my speedometer. dunno what happened, but it's a nice engine due to the low miles.

for swapping a 95+ ka into an s13, you need an s13 intake mani, ecu/harness, s13 maf, and some time. Only diff between the 89 and 92 is if you wanted powersteerign or ac in the 89, you would have to relocate them.

It can be done pretty easily. Especially since the guy that owns that car works at a shop/garage.

Most things have been mentioned, need: S13 intake mani (I have one for like $25), S13 distributor, S13 ecu/harness, and S13 maf.

Also the S13 and S14 speed sensor is different, so you'd have to find a S13 one.

use the S13 transmission and you'll be fine with the speedo.

transmission doesnt matter, only the speed sensor.

its an easy swap, use the 96 long block, keep all the OBD I accessories.

But being he has his ecu and harness for the 96.Can't he just keep his the same? What would be needed to wire to make lights etc work?Same as dropping sr in there right?

That car has obviously been beat on and the alignment issues with the front bumper might be quite telling. Overall, it looks like a good deal but check for any frame issues before you put your penny down.
